That is a good point...GD you have me thinking now as I could maybe get enough for a swap from my motor and Vortech fuhhhh (edit: Nevermind, looking at costs, not feasible with the proceeds from that)

Looks great!

Quick question: What if any is the advantage of routing the intake ALL THE WAY over to the right side of the car?

There is no increased pressure drop on the passenger vs. driver side of the car. Why not just stick the cone on the driver side?

Why did kpower not just make a round to OEM intake connection? All previous testing has shown that the OEM gen 1 intake is VERY good.

They routed it there because that is what they needed to do probably. There is a snorkel intake that flares open on the passenger side, so there is more room there than in the middle, and they couldn't have terminated it on the driver's side because it needed to be turned to the side and not straight. Maybe if they used a dome, foam-style intake like HKS likes to use on their turbo kits then that could have fit.

They could have done the same thing Harrop did on their supercharger kit, which was make an OEM-style, plastic, intake shell for the engine side of the intake with a drop in K&N filter, but maybe that would have required more effort, CAD work and time to develop it. As my swap demonstrates, there is definitely room for the stock box, so they could have made a plastic shell with a simple, 45 degree, silicone coupler from the TB to the intake. This could save some weight, but cost would probably be more for such a box. I don't know.

The F20C/F22C and K20/K24 have a long proven history of responding well on the dyno to very long intake tubes.
