What's your number?

Daily drive my BReeZe 7 miles (11+ kilometers) to work and sometimes between buildings in a small town. Speeds are like 25-35 MPH in town.

I realize this is an average, but why is it so low if I hit byway speeds once a week? I drive 25 mph minimum, not counting acceleration & braking and parking lots. Oh and I reset it a month back just to play with the numbers.

Sure, this is for the track. Just curious what your numbers look like...

Buy a used 2013 like me and you will never have a concern about your average speed again!

If you want to play with data start tracking how your avg speed correlates to avg mpg and find the optimum for your car and driving style. Then you can break it down even further using other parameters like gas types/brands/formulations and elevation changes. Yup, I spend way too much time in the car and too much of that time on the open road with nothing better to do than be a nerd.

Remember this is time based. Ten miles at 60 is ten minutes, ten miles at ten miles an hour is an hour. Then add in stopped time and it further reduces the average dramatically.

This is really easy for my! Since 95% (or more) of my driving is highway at 70 to 75 MPH it pretty much eliminates my slow city driving. My average would be someplace around 65MPH and 32MPG. Don't have a fancy gauge (YET) to say exactly though.

Don't have fancy gauges on mine either, but 90% of my cars 175k miles are on a highway doing between 70-85 mph, so my average mph is probably 65ish I would think. Average MPG is always between 30 and 32 when I fill up and reset. Using 92 octane, OFT stage 2 tune.

So very much in line with my estimates.

"I wish everyone had a fancy gauge ... and an end to world hunger!"
(I'd definitely say this if I ever won a beauty contest)

Well time to go add a few more miles on my Blue Scoob. Its sunny and 50° out. I'll see if I can bump this number up with a high speed run to the hobby store.

I'm not sure how the software calculates average MPH, but that seems about right. If you're not going above 25 MPH very frequently, this seems like a reasonable number to display.

When driving to work, my speeds would vary between 15-35-80 MPH as my driving consists of going through congested streets to get to the freeway, then dealing with congestion again due to shitty traffic. And then doing it again when coming home from work.
