At 1st I was like its meh, but after a few days it has grown on me. I still wouldn't buy one, but IMO it looks better than the Veloster and upcoming Civic hb.

Looks hideous reminds me of an FR-S Owners worst nightmare. A look closer to a mini van than hatchback. Okay save the concept for another car please. Keep the FR-S signature look. (gt86,ft86,etc)

Shooting Brake, that name is shot around much. An English vehicle for breaking (YES, breaking, not braking) horses, that also carries your guns for shooting ducks (or something like that). Won't be doing that with mine anyway. So i'll stick with GT86

This is absolutely disgusting, especially since the production value is so garbage, the back side windows look like they just slapped some black plastic on with super glue. The back window has 0 functionality, as you wont be able to see anything out of it.
This is literally taking the gt86, everything it stand for, and just shitting all over it.

Also, to the people in the toyota marketing team that thought it's a good idea to rush this, WTF WERE YOU THINKING??? WHY NOT PUT IN A BIT MORE WORK AND SHOW US THIS:
or

I understand your desire to capture the midmarket north american rush... but this is NOT how you do it.

If they are looking to make the car more practical, they need to add 3 inches of rear seat leg room.

The real problem, and the reason sales numbers are down, is that it's about 50hp shy of perfection from the factory. I solved the problem with a supercharger, but most people want that power from the factory. I'm just confused why they wouldn't just stick the turbo engine THEY ALREADY MAKE into this car.
Awesome opinion my man! Can you tell us why it needs 50HP more from the factory? How is it lacking in daily driving that you can't accomplish everything you need to do? I just did a 30km highway jaunt today with my car today, and had no issues keeping up with or passing people. Drop a gear or two and you're gone. Or is it an ego thing? Is that why it needs the power?

Cuz if they stick the turbo engine into the car, they'll need to raise the damn hoodline to meet pedestrian front impact safety legislation. If anything I wish they make the hoodline as low as possible for better visibility (ever driven a late 80s/early 90s Honda?). Furthermore, with more output they would have to beef up various components of the entire car design, then people would bitch about it being even more heavy (less feel) with a higher price tag than it already is.

Toyota wanted aftermarket support for the car, so once the various tuning companies spent the R&D money to come up with quality charged kits you want the factory to double cross them with a factory charged engine? Good way to piss them off!

Honda initially started their S2000 project as the S1600. They fucked up big time and made a monster out of their Miata rendition because of the devil's circle. I think Toyota/Subaru tried hard to follow Bob Hall's Miata "non-cept" idea with the 86/BRZ, as in don't make the car into something that it isn't destined to be.

I would rather have Toyota/Subaru up the displacement another 200cc to create better mid-range torque instead, while keeping the redline the same if possible. 200hp is enough for the 86/BRZ but I digress.

I actually really like the FF styling. That being said, I personally think the shooting brake looks good but would still prefer coupe over it.

This thread should be a poll...

Nay for me, nothing better than coupe lines for a true sports car.
Reminds me of the Z3 Coupe

Hybrid styling may appeal to youngsters but I am an old-skooler so not a fan of design bastardization.
