dip scion badge gold

Has anybody plasti dipped the scion badges gold or any color for that matter and have pictures? I have an asphalt FRS and want to dip the badges gold. Another question is would you take the badges off to paint them or just tape off the parts you don't want painted? I feel like taking them off would be the cleaner route to take.

Dipping your emblem gold is no different than the many people who have dipped their emblems black. Yes, taking them off will yield a cleaner result but it is definitely more work. I painted mine black over a year using plastidip and they turned out just fine. I will be redoing them this summer using a product called autodip.

Just be sure to thoroughly mask the areas surrounding your emblems to protect against overspray.

Mine came dipped red, I took it off the badges but I left it on the FRS and 88 logo.

I left the 88 and FRS because it looked pretty sharp

Get some newspaper and tape it around your badge in a square. Give it a couple coats, remembering to let it thoroughly dry between coats. Use a toothpick to separate the plastidip between your paint and badge. Then peel off the excess surrounding your badge.
