Steering extending wire little bit long but good enough.

I just did this mod on my 2017.
First thing I had to do was extend the airbag wires so that I could properly line up and place the airbag back into the steering wheel. Then I ran into the problem with the main control harness being too short. I decided I don't need the steering wheel controls anyway. I unplugged them from behind the control pads on the wheel so i was able to reach the other end of it to the clock spring and plug it in. The only reason I need it plugged in is the horn operates off that harness, and it's just a single ground wire that goes to the airbag housing. So I extended the single ground wire and I was done. I don't recommend novice mechanics doing any of this type of work unless you are fully confident that your airbag will actually work if you hit something in the future |

Any plans to make different sized spacers? I'd buy a 25mm spacer. I've been wanting one but I think 50 is too big.

Simplest is to pull telescopic adjustment by 2cm less, lol
There are sold under different names, J-Luth, ATC sport and Key's Racing wheels with a bit smaller diameter and 2cm offset closer to driver. They cost more then this spacer though, and imho have non-ergonomic shape too wide side horizontal spokes. |

I tried this spacer on a friend's car.
I'm at 6'4", and with the helmet on the spacer does not allow me to get extra headroom by reclining the seat back further, because there's a reinforcement in the roof right behind my helmet in my normal seating position. It is indeed much easier to reach the steering wheel with my normal driving position, now that it can be moved closer. +1 to have a 20/25 mm version. Even with my huge fingers, I just can't reach the turn signals or flash high beams with this spacer without taking off my hand from the wheel. This is a deal breaker for me. The "just move the steering wheel further" doesn't help with that, and in fact only moves the levers even further away from me. |

It was dealbraker for me, but lever extensions like these are cheap enough and worked good enough for me.

Depends. Prior this spacer i had steering wheel with "built in" 20mm offset (and of a bit smaller diameter, which slightly eased reach of further spaced due offset stalks). Somewhat i could operate stalks with tips of fingers, but i have relatively long fingers.. many with average or shorter fingers may find 20mm offset already too far. Also with just 20mm offset i found steering wheel spacing range insufficiently closer. 50mm felt much better to me, and i'm 90% satisfied with mentioned extenders for stalks. Yes, they look non OEM-ish which i'd prefer if had a choice, and they are of metal which is imho bad in sense, that hitting many roadholes imho they have greater chance to switch by weight (never happened to me yet, but then again on eg. gravel paved or other bad road i don't drive fast, but still imho lighter plastic would be better).
I bought even from breakeryard spare stalk assembly to take it apart and explore if it can be extended in better way, but their construction is more complicated then it may seem (eg. they are hollow with shafts connecting rotating tips and ring to switch light modes, fog lights, wiper speed and such), so it wouldn't be just "cutting stalk in half and fitting some plastic tube to connect halves at angle", but also adding some cardan or alike joints to connect together inner shafts. Yes, one may find something like that (eg. from spares for RC cars), but overall complexity of such better looking and better ergonomically placed w/o extension use modded stalks to would be 20x more expensive, harder to design/make, more prone to failures due more complexity/extra parts & joints, so while initially i thought for these extensions to be as stop-gap solution, after month driving with them got used to and now not willing much to go for that way more expensive and difficult modding route that might be needed for modding stalks themselves. If you are so set on getting just 20mm offset, you can consider getting such steering wheel .. but it will cost 2x this spacer costs, and i voiced my experience with such. I prefer currently having 50mm spacer + those stalk extensions.
