It's a gauge pod. It replaced the stock panel

And there is plastic right behind that stock panel you have to cut, or that Guage pod would stick out 3 inches or more.

so I've been looking at lowering springs as I just daily my car and want to reduce some wheel gap and have been looking at the Eibach Sportlines. Ive read lots of good things about them and feel like 1.4" is a perfect drop as it should close the gap but leave some room for travel. My one question is if 1.4" is too much for the stock struts. Ive tried looking into this but I've seen very conflicting things being said, some people say its fine some say to upgrade shocks, my car only has 120k km (75k miles) and I don't think the shocks are near their end of life. Can anyone provide some insight to a novice on what the best course of action would be?

When you reduce the travel of the shocks, they don't work as well. Suspension travel is very important to the handling. When you lower the car on the stock shocks (struts, dampers, shocks, they are all interchangeable terms) and reduce suspension travel you don't do anything for the car's handling performance and the limited travel will reduce the life span of the shocks too.

If the ride is OK for you and performance is not important just keep the stock shocks until they blow out. Some aftermarket shocks may be engineered with extra suspension travel and won't suffer the same performance degradation and may even improve the car's handling. I haven't looked into it much so I don't know which shocks are best for an 86 on lowering springs.

Started driving, everything seemed fine until I had to merge onto a 35 mph street and blah, nothing. No power. Somehow I put it into valet mode. Boy, thought something went out.

Got my TRD on today, starting with a nice pair of rims and then on the interior side of things I got the seat gap fillers and seat belt pads for both passenger and driver side. Finally got to installing the oem sliding arm rest, and a new pair of smoked intec carbon tail lights (ferrari look alikes)

So I started my Alternator/Condenser cover fabrication tonight. I'm just roughing it out right now...I plan on making a one piece design. So far I have only focused on the alternator side.

This is what my template looks like so far...

(I'll probably fab a cover for the alternator cable when I get going on this again...)











Btw, the final product will be made out of aluminum... I'll probably paint it Beatrush gold to break up all the polished parts... I feel if I polish it, it will be too much bling in one area.

this is the amount that should be cut based on the manual



and yes, they are screwed which i had problems with since i couldnt remove the cover of the glove compartment.. i already removed the center console, radio, a/c controls but it seems that i have to go all the way until the steering wheel part? so once i was able to screw the upper left and bottom right from the back, i installed everything back and probably have a shop screw the other corners instead

on my accord i was planning on doing springs and koni yellow's which is what ill probably end up doing on this when the shocks go, Thanks for the insight

I embarrassed it.

Had some fun on the back roads to the freeway, playing chase with a 3 series...cool dude. Anyway, I was feeling pretty proud of myself and the car. He took a right at the dragway entrance, and I kept going.

A few moments later I saw some very interesting daytime running lights in my rear view, and they were advancing fast. The car was like a dried blood red...and it passed me like I was standing still on a tight bend.

Nothing better to humble you quick like a brand new Acura NSX. Man that thing was fast n loud!
