I managed to find a site who has "slightly" more information. And it points towards the GR86.

This websites says they have contacted spokesperson from Australia and _confirmed_ details will be shared locally in the coming weeks.

The person who wrote this article also seems extremely sure that this is the GR86.

https://www.caradvice.com.au/938160/...-announcement/

I mean if information is coming to dealers in the the next few weeks, this can only be the GR86 in my mind - I think the other potential cars are too far out.

Whatever the truth, its certainly going to be an exciting Easter Monday!

Also - they have a damn fine render

What possible reason would there be for Subaru to be involved in a GR86 reveal? Toyota was not involved in the recent BRZ reveal. And Subaru was not at all in the mix at the FR-S / GT86 rollout. It's got to be some other vehicle.

Where would they pull 10 hp from? 10 hp is a huge amount of power to pull from a ~200hp NA engine with just a retune. You can't even get that on the FA20 from an aftermarket tune, which ignores emissions and restricts you to use high octane only. Manufacturers can't do that. The only way they would pull 10hp out fo the engine without breathing/head mods would be to add a flexfuel system, but that seems very unlikely since the complexity of the dual injection system would involve a sensor on both fuel systems and require a ton of effort to handle the DI/PI switchover sufficiently enough to satisfy their internal requirements. not to mention the added cost of the system.

IMO not happening. You get spring rates and bumpers. Maaaaaaybe FD change.

You know what makes it look so good in that render is that that Porsche Panamera wheel well arch is extended into the door a little rather than abruptly ending at the door like it does in reality.

That supercharger must focus more on gas mileage. Only 10HP gain... but +20mpg! See ya later Prius!

Ahh yes.

AND its got nice front bumper side vents... unlike the actual car, which are terrible if you ask me. But I haven't seen the car in the flesh so who knows..

There is a lot we dont know about the car yet.

And this looks like a session on how they are working together (going from the notes), which if its the BRZ and GR86 will be interesting to see what input GRNM have had in the development as the racing technology division.

The lead up to the OG 86 BRZ there was a lot of coverage on the cop-development process.

It does extend into the door a tiny bit in reality.

I still hope its 86. If not probably that rumoured hot hatch for US.
