Official? I don't think so.

But until anyone can think of a better reason than "elbows and drinks don't mix" that's what I'm assuming it is.

People don't reach for an automatic shifter as often, and as urgently as they do a manual shifter, so they are far less likely to smash their elbow into a drink nearby.

It's not so much a question of whether it's a problem for most people, but if it's a problem for "some" people and the result is that they spill a drink while driving that could contribute to an accident. So why take the risk of even having to show in court whether that drink placement is a hazard? Play it safe.

No idea.
It’s not in the way unless you make really exaggerated shift movements like you’re in a fast and furious movie.

Yes - I was looking at this myself this weekend and determined that it would get in the way all of the time if I put my regular Yeti cup in there. I think I am happy not having it.

Pretty sure this is how the suits at Toyota assume we all drive these cars. That, combined with a DNA-level aversion to any corporate risk, is what makes me confident that this is the actual reason for the difference.

This is all assuming a cup or a bottle is the only thing you could conceivable store in there.

It doesn't even look like that friendly of a shape for cups.

Why not make it slightly less cup friendly, refer to it as a cubby and call it day?

So Discount Tire put aftermarket TPMS sensors on these wheels. Anyone know what I can do to make them work? They tried a relearn twice on these sensors, but still not working. Am I supposed to incorporate the TMPS button in the glovebox?

Help appreciated.

Thanks

Take it to Discount Tire/Americas Tire and have them program the TPMS. Use the switch in the glovebox to select set 2 to keep your stock wheels paired.

It took the tech less than 10 min to program my wheels in the parking lot with a handheld tool. Also, its free. You will probably need to tell them to pair it as a 2021 Camry, the tool didnt have a setting for the BRZ.

Installed an air to oil cooler from ColorFittings.com

The install itself was relatively easy (i had a guy with a ls3 swapped 86 drift car helping me though) but the only PITA was the coolant took forever to drain and forever to burp. If we were just adding an air cooler to a system without a cooler it would have taken maybe 1/4th of the time.

Had the crappy dealer installed tint removed and new Xpel XR tint installed. New PPF installed as well, after I removed the (also) crap factory PPF...much better (not like you can see the PPF though )

Garage
You must be lovin' the new garage. Quite a bit more space and nicer finishes than the old place.
