Next task is to hook it to the 70" TV in the gaming room so you can watch others play. Then I want to connect some BT controllers to it so you can play either on the arcade machine or on the TV with the controllers. That would also potentially allow 4 player games.

Never get Razer headphones. After a constant battle with EQ settings, THX, Surround Sound, and re-installs. I'm done.

I really like my SteelSeries Artis 7 headset. Most comfortable I've ever owned and I find both the playback and voice channels easily adjusted to my needs.

I was looking into those while shopping around. I ended up going with Corsair ones since the iCue software is fairly simple to use.

Same headset, but the PS5 specific version. I don’t use it a lot (didn’t pay for my speaker setup for nothing lol) but it sounds good and it’s nice and comfortable when I do use it. It’s nice to be able to swap it between devices since it’s USB-C.

I use either Sennheiser or Audio-Technica open back headphones on a Schiit DAC/amp stack with a boom mic. I've tried the gaming ones and they've all broken. Plus the audio quality is so good I can listen to music for hours.

Same, I use a pair of HD58X most of the time with the Antlion mic.
Comfortable for hours and sounds good.

I only use a headset when I'm playing online (which is maybe 4 hours a month) and I never listen to music with a headset so, probably not as particular as you would be.

BAck in the 90's the wife bought me the best Sennheiser headphones she could afford for my audio system. Loved them!
When VOIP became the big thing in gaming I found my cheapo gaming headset with mic didn't cut it. The wife came to the rescue with a Sennheiser PC 363D 7.1 surround sound gaming headset. WOW! for a time I was in heaven. However as games improved I found I was losing to people who would sneak up on me. Overall sound was still great but the directionality of sounds and especially soft tones were muddled. A friend suggested Logitech and I went for the, then top of the line, G933 model. It allows me to choose either Dolby or DTS. I discovered, to my enemies dismay, that DTS gives incredible accuracy to sound direction in games like America's Army:Proving Grounds.
YMMV

Sony plans to release about 60% of their exclusives on PC and Mobile by 2025. Can we make GT7 by Jan 2023, please?

Any PC Gamers Around?

Got my steam deck on Friday!

So good. A generation-agnostic handheld feels genuinely mind blowing. I can play 90s games, new games, PC games, game boy games, PS2 games. I haven’t found a game in my library that won’t run. And if I find one (or want to save the battery) I can stream them from my local gaming pc.

Funny thing about running windows games on Linux through proton/wine. Some games actually run significantly better. NFS Carbon is a good example. No matter how powerful your windows PC is, that game will stutter even at a locked high frame rate. It’s a weird bug in that game that I’ve seen on PS3/X360 too. On the Deck it isn’t perfect, but it’s much better to the point that it doesn’t annoy me anymore.

HELL YEA BROTHER.

NFSU, U2, MW, and Carbon run perfectly. Even in proper 16:10 widescreen after some fiddling.

I do not follow gaming tech and had never heard of this before this very minute!
