Yes, you are expected to check oil level between changes but for oil to delete that quickly you would have to have a leak or massive smoke coming out of the exhaust. I suggest going into the dealer with someone who knows about motors and asking for exact details. If you are telling the truth I have the feeling they are just blowing you off.

.....also the major question: where do they suspect the oil went? Did Lord Xenu summon it back to the mother ship?

DANG, @Sitha@ft86club ....... that engine should run at least 30,000 miles on the same synthetic oil, without the rod bearings wearing out.

Also, it should run several thousand miles, 2 quarts low on oil, before it would seize up.

For the engine to "burn" that much oil, your car would look like a moving smoke bomb going down the road.

So, if you're cars engine was completely void of oil, it would have had to leaked out or someone didn't put enough oil in it at the last oil change.

Assuming you had all the maintenance work done at the dealership and you didn't mess with the engine or punch a hole in the crankcase, the repairs should be covered under warranty.

If you don't understand this ....... put your dad on the horn .... I'll speak with him ....

I assumed I was 3k over limit. But what it comes down to is a he said she said deal with the dealership.
@humfrz , so your telling me the car should have ran for 30k miles before an oil change?

And no he's not saying that. He's saying you could run 30k miles with the same oil in your engine and it would diminish and sludge up over time but it wouldn't cause your engine to seize up.

Everyone seems to agree that the only way this could've happened is if your engine oil was drained or if your car was originally not filled enough or if it all leaked out somehow.

Christ. I'm going to go check my oil. I AM ROLLING OUT OF BED TO DO THIS, because I don't want to end up ANYwhere close to where @Sitha@ft86club is at.

Also, because a dealership was the last one to touch my oil.

No, I was saying that the engine COULD have NOT SHOULD have run 30,000 between oil changes. Always refer to and comply with, what the maintenance schedule for a vehicle states.

Well, now, answer me this ..... do you have a copy of all the work orders from the dealership that shows the oil changes .. ??

We are try-en to help you here ....

Could be too late ..... the last molecule of oil just gave up trying to save your crank ....

I'm more curious how this plays out. Why can't insurance play a roll in this?

#1 you have no understanding of the car and common practice on how to maintain it.

#2 you blew a stock motor then plan on going to do a swap even after you blew the motor without knowing the cause.

#3 you keep saying how your job don't pay much but still talk big on 2j swaps knowing it's well out of your price range.....

I think it's time to take this as lesson learned and move on to a different platform. Preferably something that's idiot proof.
Dion.... I am agree with you. Recommend switch to Reebok, maintenance cost less!

Dear Sitha,
Recommend you follow what other people say and dig deeper into why your engione had no oil in the first place. My good buddy, @chrisagu28, has bring to my attention that the passenger side rear cam plate cover on the engine held inside 86 engine bay leaks... maybe see if this is where your oil decided to jump ship.

Good luck with future.

My dealership gave me my oil changes @ 3k, 7k, and 11k, no questions asked. They didn't give me any info on when i needed my oil changes, they just catered to my requests.
