Kind of a boring race once you realized Massa wasn't going to amount to anything because of poor strategy. Another Merc 1-2 without any real battle.

I am cheering for Hamilton. I think Nico is a great driver, but Lewis best represents Formula 1 I think. Does anyone think Lewis can catch Nico for the Championship?

Poor Vettel though. I really feel bad. Can't get a break. Same thing Webber went through. Surprise to see him at Red Bull's ceremony.

I think Lewis can catch Nico, but it's going to take some bad luck on Nico's part or the last race with double points

Vettel gets paid by red bull, shouldn't be a surprise.

Respectable 9:52.243 from an '86!

As for the F1 race, I have to say the GP2 race was far more entertaining and competitive with an American driver, frequent passing in the most unexpected places and the sounds of the good old V-8 days *sigh*.

Good race at Silverstone this weekend, huh?

LOVED the Alonso/Vettel exchange. Seb is such a child.
Good to see Hammy win it at home and come within 4 points of Rosberg for the championship...sounds like something out of a movie script lol
Bottas is on a roll! Good to see Smiley on the podium too!

All in all a satisfying race.

Buying my tickets for Austin in a week or two!

Alonso bitched/cried after he was passed by Vettel as well.

Negative my good sir. Alonso was explaining how the DRS by the following car made his defense impossible and in what turns the advantage/disadvantage was and then he said, "what more, I need to do."

I translate that as him saying he did everything he could and the advantage from the DRS was indefensible.

That's very different to the whining from Vettel about how people won't move out of his way. Vettel hasn't really had to actually "race" anyone over the last 4 years so he's not used cars actually driving defensively. What a rude awakening it must be.

Vettel: You're not a princess and this is a race, he's racing you!

p.s. I still think Vettel should have gotten some kind of penalty or warning for constantly driving out of bounds (4 wheels off) and gaining advantage.

What he needs to do is ask Maranello for a better damn car. Damn Ferrari has made my favorite driver decide to retire after this season.

In order to finally pass Alonso, Vettel had to late brake into that corner. That late braking caused him to put all four wheels off the track limits on that corner. I would be rightly pissed myself because that was an advantage gained with four wheels off track after every driver was specifically told before the race there was a zero tolerance policy.

I guarantee every single driver in that race violated the four wheels off policy including Alonso when Vettel was behind him. Vettel was counting how many times. They didn't apply a penalty to any of the drivers.

If you don't gain an advantage by leaving the track it's usually not an issue. Vettel leaving the track was a direct result from gaining an advantage.

Alonso is not allowed to make more than one "move" to block, and if Vettel can't get around him, that's not Alonso's problem. Given the epic drive he gave in that piece of trash Ferrari, he had every right to keep Vettel behind him.

I think David Hobbs said it best: "Six world championships have been won between the two. They should know what they're doing."

Vettel probably got away with it because the advantage was gained prior to leaving the track limits. Even though he left the track BECAUSE of that advantage. Probably a gray area up to interpretation of the stewards. Given how strict they were in quali and repeating that strictness before the race, I'm surprised to see Vettels pass stand.
