Gas Pump Problem

Hi guys!

New to posting here but I have a problem that I can't for the life of me figure out. I have a first gen FR-S. Over the past couple months when I am at the gas station trying to fill up the tank the gas nozzle prematurely clicks. It started of doing it a couple times all the way gradually up until now a couple months later it constantly prematurely clicks several times and now gas shoots back out of the car repeatedly. It's a complete nightmare to have to get gas.

I know for a fact my tank is never filled when I stop to get gas, have tried different pumps as well as different gas stations entirely to end up with no resolve. Any ideas on what the problem is and any suggestions?

Thanks so much! :o

The hose from the filler to the tank is kinked.

I have a borescope from Home depot that you could look down the tube and see.
Maybe you could stop by the local HD and ask them to demo their shelf model.
I think it's RYobi.

It's not a hose, it's a metal pipe. OP, having fuel spraying from your car is probably something you want to ask the dealer about.

Well that's funny since the manual calls that part a "Fuel tank to filler pipe hose" and the picture shows a hose clamp on either end of it.

cut & paste from the manual:
"13. Disconnecting the fuel tank to filler pipe hose

(1) Loosen the hose clamp, and disconnect the fuel tank to filler pipe hose."

Known issue. The rubber hose in the fuel filler has collapsed. The dealer will replace it under warranty if your mileage is still low enough.

Here's someone else with the same problem:
