Different strokes I guess. I sometimes do more than that in a day for fun.

About once a month or so we leave early in the AM, drive 6 hours to see the granddaughter and her minions, spend about 8 hours there, then drive 6 hours back. Same day.

i can drive that, no problem. but talking to people, and keeping conversation is absolutely exhausting.

but that's what i get for being an introvert.

i dunno. i think it's more common of a theme than you might think.

the whole keeping a memento from someone that passed, and "one day i'll fix it up"...

means too much to get rid of, and the point isn't the object, but the memories with the person that it belonged to.

i guess that's why it makes for a good commercial.

I'm not an endurance kind of driver. I get bored very quickly and west Texas is boring as fuck to drive through. It's not even the seats that bother me. It's the scenery... or lack thereof.

I’m the same way. As long as I have something to listen to or someone to talk to.

I'm agreeing with soundman here. I didn't see the clip as a car commercial let alone a Chevy advert. Made me sad regardless.

sometime back in may? june? a trucking company we do work for had a driver that decided to attempt to make his truck occupy the same space as a light pole. cracked the concrete base at ground level, and the falling pole messed up another truck in the process.

finally got the pole base installed beginning of the week, pole scheduled for delivery sometime later in january/febuary. was there today for something entirely different. suddenly, the boss gets back to me that upper management MUST have the outlet that used to be on that pole working so they can keep the truck block heaters going.

before he hung up, "i don't want it to take very long, it's only temporary, it just needs to work for a month, and it's GOT to be safe".... cue the big bag of zip ties and whatever random crap i have on the truck...
