oh yeah no doubt, and the a pillar especially on the supra. both 86 and supra also have the double bubble on the roof that the 2000gt has. and the sweeping doorline.

but the 86 i feel executes the heritage of the 2000gt better (from a design standpoint). it even has elements of it in the interior.

the supra interior on the other hand...

I still think the overall proportion and exterior screams more 2000GT in the Zupra. Simply because of the common two seater layout and straight six.

That's because they had to look for spare parts in the BMW parts bin.

Could be coincidence but perhaps not ...anyone notice the white 86 further down? If so, another good indicator ^^

THIS is one of the primary reasons i bought a new 86 over a 15+ year old 240z/silvia/etc. it's got the exact same interior layout.

stupid reason, but it swayed me significantly when i was brochure-shopping.

you guys do know Toyota has the 2000gt at pretty much every new sports car unveiling, photo opp, and mentions how it inspires everything from the LFA to the 86.

well yeah it's the grand daddy of them all. there's a very distinct "toyotaness" of their sports cars that usually stems from stuff like long bonnet (usually for i6), thick ass hips/bulgy rear fenders. i mean most sports cars have that but there's something about toyota's sports car silhouette and rear quarters that scream toyota ?? because of 2000gt

Yup, I can probably find as many pics of the 2000GT with the Zupra as well. It's just marketing and PR. So let's just get back on topic with the GR86.
