The evolution performance driving school seems to be a good investment as well. I'll be taking the Phase 1 part of the school in July and other autocrosses in my area as well. Can't wait!

As for fitting, scoot your seat forward one click and lean the back one or two clicks. That should get you enough headroom.
Then my legs wouldn't fit. They're already almost bumping the dash on either side of the steering wheel.

Auto-X doesn't interest me, but High Performance Driving School at BIR will be where i work on my cars and skills. I agree people should learn their limits and their car's limits.

this thread for the win!!!!!!!

i essentially re learned my style of driving on this car the past couple of weeks in stock form, for the past year been driving around a 15psi fully built sr20 s13 coupe with every arm and rod replaced and cusco coilovers.

had i spent more time on a car with less power and suspension mods i think i would be in a better place drifting and grip driving.

I definitely want to learn how to drive "better." :P

How much do these classes cost and will I have to bring my own car?

SCCA AUtoX classes are usually about the same price as an event, maybe a touch more. But you don't need to take a class first. You can show up to an event as a first timer. Any SCCA region should have novice walks and people to help first-timers at every event. Just let them know it's your first event when you register and I'm sure they'll give you a hand.

Any GA guys involved/wanna get started in this? Never occurred to me that this is a cheap alternative to track days, sounds like a lot of fun.

Had my AutoX school this weekend. Wow what a car! I had a ton of fun, learned a lot about how she handles. Signed up for my first race next weekend. Love it!

I'm really getting excited about this thing they call Auto-X. Havent owned a car for a while that would be worth doing this in, but once I get the BRZ its on! Guy I work with said he did it last summer with his built Sti and was a ton of fun. It cost him $350 and that covered every weekend for the whole summer, seems like a pretty good deal.
Here in PA there are enough backroads that I never really needed a closed course, but I like the community feel that this should have.

I STRONGLY encourage everyone to go to an autocross at least once. It's a safe and fun way to push the limits of your car with risk of personal injury or damaging your car.

Many local car clubs will host events and NASA and the SCCA likely have events near you, wherever you are!

It's a sport that can be as expensive or cheap as you want it. Entry fees and fuel might add up to $400 for a 10 event season, if your on relatively hard tires you should use them up too quickly and will still have a blast

Also the FR-S and BRZ are showing early signed of being excellent SCCA autocross competitors!

Isn't the cost of insurance pretty high for these types of events?
