Just finished my first experience at the big show, the SCCA Solo National Championships.

I did the best I could to nab that last 23rd place trophy (most trophies ever lol).

Day 1 I was 33rd out of 86 in CS. Going in to day 2 I had my work cut or for me because it rained pretty good before our runs. After my last run I was sitting in 16th and felt great but there were at least 30 more people to run and the course was rapidly drying so I fell all the way to 29th.

Oh well. It was a super fun experience and can't wait to go back!

Threat of rain didn't develop for this weekend's BMW club Autocross event, so turned out to be a good day with 10 runs each. Unfortunately, didn't see any other 86'ers this time, so tried to represent. Had 2nd in Novice after morning runs, but dropped to 4th in the afternoon, though my times improved by several seconds. Just didn't improve enough... Looking forward to next weekend's NTAXS event to get more seat time. Results: http://autox.lscbmwcca.org/.

After my brother's wedding in Edmond, OK Saturday, I went to the OKSCCA event on Sunday. The weather was magnificent and I managed to win STX by just over 1s (the second place Focus ST was the only real competition out of the 5 competitors, but he was leading me by about 0.1s after morning runs). I was 6th in pax and had the 9th fastest raw time (http://live.axti.me/results/E1ewW2Cs-).

It was a fun course, but the novices had a hell of a time finishing without DNF'ing.

Hey guys! I'm thinking about making it out to the NTAXS event tomorrow. Can we register at the event? I realized too late to register online. Also, how much is it?

They cap the event at 65 people and they have been full for over a week. You can come out and watch/ride. Bslate and I will be there.

NTAXS fills up soon after registration opens (usually 2 weeks before the event).

What a great day for an autox. The even was fun and it was great to see some new 86's at the event.

My morning runs were all 'accidentally' done in 'drift mode', but I managed to clean them up for the afternoon. Slatertots (Bslate) still ended up beating me by half a second in my own car, but we had fun anyway.

Because I have a real problem, I went to the PCA Time Trial out at MSR today. We ran the 1.3, which was fun. It was my first PCA time trial at the track (I've done two at Mineral Wells back in my WRX days). My fastest lap today was a 72.847s, which put me about a quarter second ahead of Jarret Jan (but nearly 4s behind Armstrong).

Weather held out and it turned out to be a pretty nice day. My RE71's are done though, I ordered them July 1... Luckily I already have another set in my closet (I ordered them when Bridgestone was giving out $70 Visa pre-paid cards when you ordered a set of tires, somehow I knew that I'd need more).
