That was my point. It isn't just cost it is target markets. Again I was agreeing with you.

I, for one, love seeing other twins. It makes me happy to know there are other people out there that love actual driver's cars.

I may or may not do a little happy dance when I see them.

This is not an exclusive car. It's a very basic car built mostly for those people who actually like driving.

I spent a week driving around Atlanta and never saw a one. Took a road trip from Detroit to Atlantic City and back and not a single sighting.
Quit being so logical, @Tcoat!

Also, come by Chicagoland and you'll see a bunch. I spot at least one a day on average, often times 2-3.

Plus, plenty of ice racing! I bet you could come up with some excuse to visit our office here over winter, then you can co-drive my FR-Slow on a frozen lake in Wisconsin.

Well that still applies to the workplace really. We have two Vette owners at work and they bring their cars to work 4 or 5 nice days a year. My car is here every single day all year round. This may not apply to places like California or Florida but for the majority of the continental USA Corvettes are fair weather driven at best. Many never leave the garage if it is even cloudy out.

Speaking of workplaces. At our office right now we have 2 x 991, Bentley Continental GT, Rolls Wraith, 458, Boxster, a bunch of Mustangs, Tesla P85 and my FR-S. The Porsche’s have me out numbered. Oh and on some days we also have an SLS AMG (the owner of the Wraith).

Edit: Just lookin out my window.. forgot the M235.

I've never personally felt this way, nor do I think I ever will, but I've only had mine for almost a month. From my experience, I get excited to see another twin on the road because they usually either wave, give a thumbs up, etc.

Like some other people have stated, I think your location might skew your perception. I have only seen about 3 twins in my area in the past two months. Not sure if that has to due with my particular location, or the fact that on a daily basis, I don't really drive much more than my 10 minute commute to work (what's wrong with me?!)

Either way, you have a pretty unique car; maybe just not in your location.

The great American "sports car":
The total number of Mustangs for the same period is 453,748. The annual production of Mustangs is greater than the total number Twins in the USA. If you extend the Mustangs production back to 2006 (being reasonable they are still on the road) then you add another 603,184 for a total of well over a million of the things.

Since the Corolla was mentioned:
Same period 1,593,105 (yes over a million and a half since 2012). Taking them back to what could still be on the road adds 1,913,000. This gives a total of 3.5 MILLION.

There are 263 million registered cars in the USA.

The Twins are .03% of the registered cars in the USA and I think that makes them pretty bloody exclusive even if some people in some areas see 100 a day.
Jeez, that really puts it into perspective. Guess you got a point there about my perception being skewed because of my daily commute locations.

Toyota and Subaru needs to start making less twin, but I guess it's too late.
This is my annoyance with the car...there's too many!!

....Or worst, seeing a heavily modded stanced frs or brz
Why the fuck do people do this to a sports car? Doesn't it take away from the whole purpose of this car, the agile and nimble yet great performance?
....Am I missing something with the goal of these kinds of mods?!

How do you guys feel about seeing countless other twins?
How many a day do you spot?
Da fuq is wrong with you. The more people that buy the platform and support it, the greater the future of the car.

Childish vanity bud. Find other ways to be special besides possessions.

I see so few that I got truly excited when I was in Portland last week and we saw about 10 while driving around. They probably wondered about the maniac waving to them from the passenger seat.
Even then we saw about 2 Miatas for every Twin.

I had one of the first R53 MINI Cooper S's and enjoyed the stares I got for a while, but I never got tired of driving it, even when it started falling apart.
I love seeing another twin. The only time I'm disappointed is if the driver ends up being an @sshole; some don't deserve the goodness.

Here are not common at all. Two months ago I saw once the new 86 and in total I can count maybe 5-6 cars.

I cannot understand why the hate if you see a car like yours. Either stock or modded. Normally, it should get a thumbs up. Get over to it and stop worrying too much of what others are doing. Even the factory changed in the latest revision the character of the car . Yes it was nice to have a tail happy setup and slide, but there wasn't much of power slide! Many users were annoyed that the car was losing grip even in cases they didn't want to. I was annoyed too. So, the car was not perfect from the beginning and matured with the years. It will not satisfy everyone, I am sure some will say that the first year models were better. At least we should accept some common sense.
