Hi ya, CarlIvan ........

If you're measuring your gas mileage by the tankful and running till the light comes on and comparing vehicles........ you may be leading yourself down a pig path.

I suggest you calculate your gas mileage (miles driven divided by gallons consumed) and then come back ......

What do you credit your exceptionally good gas mileage to .. ??

Header? Tune? Good driving habits?

The highest I've gotten on non-freeway, highway driving was 34 MPG.

(stock, MT, fully loaded, A/C ON, driving the speed limit)

270 is poor?! I'm getting 180-200 until the gas light comes on.....

I think I need to see if something is wrong....I have headers, overpipe, frontpipe, catback, and tune. I feel like I have a v8, getting under 20mpg...

Maybe your gas light is reading funny ......

Maybe because you drive around in first and second gear ..... right up against the rev limiter ......

I used to drive and shift until 3-4K rpm, then I started following the shift light and shifting below 3k RPM. following the shift light only gives me about 10-20 more mpgs per tank...I think I should start looking into this more

Anyone think this is normal? I don't even have the AC on, I do only drive in the city, but there's been times where I've driven across state lines and didn't get any noticeable differences in mpg. I don't care about not having good mpg's, just want to make sure it's normal getting only 180 before the gas light comes on...my wrx that was stage 2 with an instant spooling turbo would get the exact same, 180..but the tank size was different.

My MPGs dropped but only because my first FRS was an auto and my current one is a manual :p I averaged normally around 30+ on my auto and right now I'm averaging about 25 MPG with a stock FRS...guess I like to revv it out more on a stick lol (ofc besides the shorter gearing with the manual tranny)

HEY! ....... some of you gang members ........

A couple of good ways to fool yourself in measuring gas mileage is to measure from when the low fuel light comes on OR to believe in the mileage indicator in your car.

So, I suggest that you drag out your paper and pencil, fill up the tank till the pump clicks off ....... drive the car some distance ...... come back to the same pump (if possible - not necessary) and fill up till the pump clicks off.

Now you have two numbers ....... miles driven and fuel consumed.

Here is where the paper and pencil come in .........

So, talk to us about l/100 kilometers or miles per gallon.

(I'm just typing in for @Tcoat, while he is on holiday and @Ultramaroon while he is at work)........

No, he has one number because you didn't tell him to record his starting odometer value.
