I am not sure what has started this Miles Per Light fad but it is a horribly inaccurate way to measure milage. If the light comes on at 270 miles on one car and 310 on another it just means the Spenser float I'd a bit different not that the milage is worse. The difference of 40 miles equals something around a gallon and a half of fuel. That gallon and a half spread across the tank is probably under an inch or so. No idea how strict the float spec is but doubt the variation is unreasonable. Th milage indicator may be off a couple of MPG but it is close enough if used to just measure against it's self and massively more accurate than MPL.

I consistently get between 8 and 8.5 l/100km. That's with a lot of fun driving mixed in.
Nothing crazy on the mod front... UEL, springs, 17x9 with 245/40/17 200TW tires and a 91 tune. Y'all are doing it wrong. |

well stock on a cruise i wouldnt get more than 27 in the burbs, i put the catback on and got 29. then i put the header on and i started getting 32/33 in the burbs... the tune is just off the shleft oft stage 2 93 oct.. i can tell you, if i wanted to, i could go through a whole tank in one day of hard driving... other than that i fill up once a week bc i do a lot of driving. i never use my AC unless its like 95 or hotter. but i would probably credit the good driving habits. even though ive been pulled over 5 times and 4 of the 5 were for speeding, haha

if you want better mpg, try changing up your fuel... i strictly use sunoco 93 from the same 4 gas stations. BP is a very good gas company... try their gas prior to going on a trip

Over 80% of this is commuting miles (same path, same fueling stations) so it's a relatively valid comparison. Months with high peaks are months I'm most likely to take road trips in the car.

I'm averaging about 31mpg which is about 310-330 miles a tank when light comes on. I'm driving a 2016 frs with AT but I do have a tendency to enjoy the sport mode and paddle shifters from time to time. I drive town and highway both almost everyday so being combined I'd say I'm doing well.

But you still can't rely on miles per tank. Do the math. If the math is too hard, put a mileage app on your phone and let the phone do the math for you. Take a pic of what? |

LOL. That thing is ridiculously inaccurate and almost always shows much better mileage than the car is actually getting. Snapping a picture of that doesn't tell us anything, other than perhaps you don't know how to calculate mileage yourself.
