methinks you're reading too much into tcoat.
he's about facts, not blame. i'm also not entirely convinced that most automotive load testers in parts stores aren't biased towards battery failure, but that might be a better talk for a different time.

Tl;dr
If you keep it close to your cell phone, it’ll chew through batteries. Even with a full battery, it’ll struggle to transmit in close proximity to your phone. |
