Seems like a vague non-answer.

So, in the specific context of a twin, there's nothing in the engine bay that will get damaged by getting water on it?

Fuse box and alternator but there really wouldn't be much get at them with the position of the opening. Not a real concern.

Likely. Go to my build thread and look at my clearances. I have a relatively high turbo setup. This hood was made to fit on my car so if you have anything sticking up higher than I do, it will interfere.

I would say very likely since the Edlebrock sits so far back in the bay, albeit tall.

The vent scoop is a 3" drop and the opening is just in front of the pulleys/belt.

How far back is the lowest part of the drop from the leading edge of the hood? It looks to be around 8" or so. And how wide is the vent? 15" or so? On the Edelbrock, the airbox and MAF housing tube would be the main cause for clearance concerns, I believe.

On a stock car? No.

Aftermarket parts? Depends on the part.

FYI, that radiator exit duct would work a lot better, if there was a duct from the back side of the radiator, up to the hood exit.

Makes me wonder about worst case scenarios though. For example, if I were to park on the street here in NYC and it happened to snow a ton. Snow would basically build up on top and potentially fall into the engine bay through the reverse scoop. Once in there, would the snow sitting on belts, pulleys, compressors, etc. not be damaging?

Looks like a damn good hood though, has my attention more than any other aftermarket one I've seen so far. Actually functional and not too gaudy (I'd definitely have it paint matched to OEM, with some bits like the scoop/ducts left in CF).

I wouldn't worry about that. I'd be more concerned about water dripping onto a hot turbocharger, or header.

A few well placed heat shields can mitigate that, as can just taping over the vent.

Since it's custom made, I'm sure that it wouldn't be too hard to ask for a removable cover for the scoop that has a smaller vent near the top, to close it off if needed. If it's cold enough outside for it to be snowing, you don't really need the duct to be fully open when driving.

Not sure and dont remember, Ill post some shots once I get it in my hands. Kind of annoying Joel isnt on the forums. I know its roughly 14"x3".

Agreed. May do that someday but in the meantime my turbo and plumbing all run in between the engine and radiator.

The opening is forward of the pulleys and belt so I dont think a mound of snow would do anything detrimental. I have Joel epoxying in some hexagon wire mesh on my opening to keep leaves and snowballs out.

Thats a sexy idea depending on the color. I personally love that effect on red cars.

Theres a lip on the opening. Would be easy to (or have Joel) drill holes for a removable plate. Joel is currently epoxying in hexagon wire mesh on mine.

@xkalelx is this a 2-piece hood that has been bonded together? (Inside/structure skin and outside/exterior skin.)

No. This is a full 100% carbon fibre part. No internal structure like the Seibon. Which explains the super light weight. Its only a couple layers thick. Joel also excludes all of the unnecessary ribbing/structure on the underside that are needed on a metal hood.
