Ethanol blend

Hi guys,

Just read Shiv's post regarding e85 and how if we are N/A there isn't a necessity for e85 since our dynamic compression when N/A can't take full advantage of full e85, and ideally all we need is e40.

So my question is has anyone run e40 on the oft STG 2+ e85 maps? If so what was your experience in terms fuel economy, fuel trims, performance, cold starts etc...?

Also if e40 isn't an ideal blend, what blend would you recommend? I have a catless header.

The post I'm referring to https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink/top...ink_source=app

Thanks

Try not to run anything other than e85 on an e85 map. The engine is expecting e85, and will run rich unless the engine fuel trim can cover for it.

A few % off of 85 would probably be just fine, but I don't know enough about the engine to say that it can adjust for e40

If you care about running e40, blend it yourself an get a flex fuel kit.

Cheers I remember it now.Good e85 is 105ron and runs 14:1 comp safely. 93ron runs 10.5:1 comp safely. Obviously with modern ecu`s you can push safety limits further. The fa20 is 12.5:1 so it would fall in between.

Nothing like having a nice anti knock safety margin with your fuel. For 2hp loss why run crappy fuel. !`m possibly a bit spoiled with our e85 its exxy but always e80+.

Our Cars love E85. If you can do 1 mod and have reliable e85, Tune+Flex Fuel is all I would do+ Axleback for sound.
