Ha,ha. What baloney. They totally made that up. I have a lip on my car and at least that make some sense as to why the gap. Bottom line is that with as many people that have this problem in a variety of scenarios it is a manufacturing defect. Just a poorly designed fastener plain and simple.

@cslntuee That might work a little to help with the sag, but in no means is it a permanent fix. The bumper will most likely still sag over time due to it not being secured on either side.

Also, that solution would cause major issues for those with forced induction. I can see these getting in the way of intercooler piping.

Will the rear bumper also has the gap (fitment) issue after taking out
several times, although I never touch the rear bumper?
