Perfect! Just tried that. I don't think there's constant drag, rather during the first movement of the car the clutch does drags but then it lets go. I'm not sure if that's would happen with the engine on and everything already spinning, but I'm willing to accept that as a possible explanation to what people are describing.

K As I noted it's nothing like you'd see in a multi-plate wet clutch, but I think its there. How much it does is another question. Enjoy

Definitely need to double clutch when the car is cold. Takes a few miles for everything to warm up.

These cars definitely have some Dr Jeckly and Mr Hyde thing going.

Wonder how the new models compare

These guys are right. I double clutch out of super old-school habit and I used to swear that a throttle blip did nothing until I tried it on this car. Damned if a good solid rev way above the target speed didn't do the trick. Then, if timed to help the syncro clutch do its job, instead of replacing it altogether in a double clutch, it actually does work.

I still double clutch because, well, I'm my dad's son.

Just to throw in my 1.5 cent's worth. With clutch pedal fully depressed, there should be absolutely no drag on the clutch surfaces. Otherwise, it would grind every you put the car in reverse.

I am talking about rev matching but you are right. I am mistaking the overall smoothness of the process vs. getting the shifter in the gate. I really don't have an issue with my car unless it starts to get under 40F and that is just for the first shift or so.
