That should present a challenge to your plant propagators and/or your plant genetic engineers .....

Well, I tried that plant ...... but, mrs humfrz wanted a plant that bloomed for the front garden. Every time one of them would bud out, getting ready to bloom, the neighborhood kids would steal the buds .....

Damn kids will steal anything these days ......

Forget the kids. Around here you can't even trust the police not to steal it.

I jest gotta tell a back-in-the-day story.

It was back in the 70s when I was living in Connecticut, in a house with a secluded back yard and deck.

My younger brother (a hippie at the time from Oregon) brought me some seeds. So, being an agronomist, I planted them in a 24" terracotta, bowl shaped pot, which I placed on my back deck on a table, to get full sun.

I would pinch back the plants to make them bush out and create a bonsai effect. My "garden" was looking good when we hired a baby sitter and went out for the evening. The next day, I discovered that my plants were gone .... and the baby sitter had invited her boyfriend over while we were gone.

I wonder where my pot of plants went ......

Now, back to our regular programming.

My Grandfather had a several foot tall one growing in his living room for years. He just like the way it looked, and my Grandmother didn't really know what it was.

Technically it was a hemp plant, which is the same species but has very low THC. The stuff grew wild in areas of his farm because at one point (before his ownership) it had been a hemp farm for making rope.

My Uncle (his son-in-law) said it was about useless for "medicinal purposes" but that didn't stop him from trying. He was your stereotypical 60's Hippie type, and played in a acid rock band to boot so I'm pretty sure he was an expert.

Yep, I remember smoking "ditch weed" back in the 50s. If you smoked enough of it ...... you could get an effect ...... but, maybe we were dizzy just from inhaling so much smoke .....

But if we're going by your original post, it's still sort of valid. Your initial purchase and ownership started at that age.

WEEDS! Let me tell you about WEEDS, back on the farm.....

Cultivators couldn't get between the corn in rows ....... but, a kid with a hand hoe could. We're looking at 175 acres of corn here. Our corn was planted on 36" centered rows ..... 43,560 sq ft per acre ....... go figure how long THAT corn row was.......

If the weed was a Canadian thistle, it had to be dug up (deep tap roots and all) and burned ...... I wish the Canadians would have kept their primary noxious weed above the border .....

What WAS this thread about ...... ??

Oh, DITCH weed. As long as it stayed in the ditches ..... no problem ...... unless the sheep ate too much of it ..... then they would get all stupid. Made them easy to catch though .......

Ah. Forget the context. Just reread the poll title and thought it was a bit off. That makes sense
