I see the picture now, looks pretty cool! I'm in the market for a wing in the next couple of months... What's the ETA looking like?

So if that's the top of the mold does that mean it's swan neck mounting? No endplates?

Endplates generally have to be larger than winglets to reduce the wingtip vortex by the same amount. In my opinion, it's a brute force approach where the main benefit is ease of analysis and design particularly where large adjustments to geometry are expected.
Winglets on the other hand are difficult to design properly, but can be far more effective at reducing the vortex, as they actively counter the vortex, rather than just getting in the way. Not sure what your level of aero experience is, but the reason you want to reduce the vortex is because the energy to rotate the air has to come from somewhere. That shows up as induced drag and is one of the main differences between 2d and 3d flow. The only problem I see with this design (assuming they are going to do a bit more refinement through testing) is that you will lose some of the benefit of the winglets as you adjust for aoa that is different than the design point. Assuming this is is meant to be adjustable, it would be really F'in cool if there were removable modular wingtips for different aoas, but not sure if there is a business case to justify a redesign or manufacturing. Sorry, nerding out real hard on this. I don't get to look at cool aerodynamics things anymore. |

Interesting. Gut feeling was they were a bit short for the job I thought they were supposed to do, but I didnt have the data to comment. Was fooled by the airfoil and twist on the plug in the picture.

Wing is in and looks great! We'll try to grab some photos here shortly, been slammed with work lately which is a great problem to have but photos/marketing suffers a bit.
We have ordered all the billet components after 3D printing all the points first. Pretty excited, we should have a prototype on the car ready for testing in the next few months. Thanks, Eric |

Can you expound on the difference between what you consider high down-force and what you're targeting with this wing. Thanks.

What I consider high downforce? Depends on the car/setup. |

Wing first article with 3D printed mounting installed below! Exciting! Expect more updates in another month or so .

I'm liking the look of this thing a lot more than I ever intended to.
