Looking for Ecutek Tuner

Hello everyone:

I'm looking for an ecutek tuner for my car. I know there are a bunch of tuners in the forum.

I have some questions on ECUTek, some tuners I've seen usually have 3 options on their websites, Stage 1, Stage 2, and some form of custom work which is charged per hour.

1) Does this mean that Stage 1 and 2 are mostly off the shelf options?
2) How much personalization do you get from these tunes? I know you get a ROM, you flash the car, do a log and send it back. and this is repeated a few times.
3) considering I'm in south america, I'd like a tuner that doesn't need me to physically take my car to their shop.
4) Did anyone have a car similar to mine remapped with ECUTek? What tuner did you use?
5) Any tuner recommendations?
6) Any tuners to be wary of?

Here's the info of my car:

Type of Car: Weekend toy, autox 4-6 times per year, track 2-3 per year.
Exhaust mods: invidia overpipe, invidia CATTED frontpipe, invidia Q300 catback
Intake mods: HKS air intake snorkel, currently HKS drop-in but changing soon to the new mishimoto intake (the new one
Engine mods: Crawford powerblocks, perrin pulleys (engine, ac, all of them).
Gas Octane: 98 (but our gas in peru is pretty terrible).

I've also got a whole bunch of mods to the suspension, brakes, etc. but that doesn't really matter in this thread.

Food for thought -- NA gains on this car are pretty tiny. E-tuning without a dyno won't give you much performance over an off-the-shelf tune. You probably couldn't even notice it.

I'm sure @DeliciousTuning would be able to set you up with an ECUtek tune.
Stage 1 is for OEM header, Stage 2 is for a catless header.

Honestly with those mods, I would check out the Openflash Tablet. IMO its the best bang for the buck if staying NA. There is already an off the shelf tune for the powerblocks and you can do remote tuning with Shiv if you want to get the most out of the tune.

I think Ecutek really only shines when you have flex fuel, forced induction, or are doing actual dyno tuning. For vanilla bolt ons, OFT is king.

Moto-Mike is a perfect ecutek tuner.
he makes your car 15% faster in stage 2.
me and 3 of my friends use moto-mike NA stage 2 tune. the result is exceptional.
with OBD II device we recorded the stock and stage 2 0-100km times and mike stage 2 tune is 1.51 seconds faster than stock car.

- no knock
- nice cam profile with no bad valve sound around 4k rpm
- mike is very patient in remote map revisions
- his map revision will shift LTFT to near zero

Thanks Mike

I agree, you can't go wrong with Delicious Tuning, especially if you're thinking of upgrading in the future. You can't really upgrade to forced induction or flexfuel with OFT.

We are supporting a few FI kits with the OFT. Including the turbo kit on our own shop car. I agree that flex fuel isn't available for OFT yet.

Their is a guy in Australia who has coded flex fuel into A01G rom

https://www.facebook.com/Throttle.Happy.Tuning

its not opensource (he uses brzedit) but it can be done and he can do it for other roms if requested. It hooks up to standard flex fuel kits that use rear 02 sensor as input.

We have support for ALL forced induction applications on the market. Every tune comes equipped with our own closed loop fuel correction (CLFC) for perfect AFR's all the time.

We are now working on implementing CLFC on our NA Stage 1 and Stage 2 packages. This is a unique feature Delicious Tuning has implemented with EcuTeK custom mapping.

All of our tunes can be easily upgraded for Flex Fuel whenever you are ready to fill up and go.

Cheers,
William Knose
