Yes, that means it's going to be compromised from our perspective in certain ways, but that's just a fact of life. Around here, I hear a lot of "it's too heavy, I'm going to gut it," and other such nonsense. No you're not. And neither is anyone else, at least in statistically significant numbers from Toyota's perspective. When enthusiasts gather in groups like this, it's easy to forget that the rest of the world just doesn't care about RWD, light weight, or even manual transmissions anymore.

We're VERY lucky to be getting a small, light, RWD sports car at all. Historically speaking, they just don't sell. They could brand it as a Turdbucket, I don't care. The name is the least of this car's problems.
i`m not complaining because i`m not as hardcore as most peeps claiming that they will strip it and put a roll cage, etc but the only thing i`m worried about is that i will feel a slight disappointment thinking that it could have been more raw and edgy. either way it will be better than anything in the market for the price.

If I do go with the FR-S then I will debadge it immediately as my first mod. I am with the two Subie guys in the case study... Scion is def not seen as a good brand among the performance guys.
