IF TOYOTA is truly reviving SCION, then they would need to regulate the brand strictly.

Especially the FRS, regulate it so it wont fall into the hype of "SCION". Only strict performance parts and not so much of aesthetics.

Look at the currently leaked TRD FRS in the sticky.

Someone is a ninja.

this is what i`m afraid of... it's like buying a civic si and you`re just waiting for some idiot to put a large bench spoiler on it and make every civic driver's image tarnished...

but then again, the STI guy and I were the ONLY ones rejecting scion and everyone else at the research found scion..... attractive....

I'm too tired of going back into the debate of Scion and the badge itself. Lol We had that topic go on for nearly 2 months. lol

Now.. all I'm going to do is... debadge it. Find myself a TEQ emblem. And stick it on. If not.. Order some emblems from JP and have it shipped over. And slap it on. Then get an aerokit design from WoW(WingsofWar), go to asuka design have them make it and put it on my car so no one will recognize it as a scion. :>

hopefully toyota wont screw us over with a scion badge on the steering wheel, but it seems like it will come with the 86 logo instead so lets keep our fingers crossed LOL

I don't know about Scion, but I wanted some TRD stuff for my car here in the UK. Toyota UK can order anything you want as all of Toyota's stuff is on one central database. That includes replacement parts/badges. So you could get SCION, I assume, or your local Toyota Dealer who will have access to this database to order all the Toyota badges you could rub your willy on. You know, if you really care that much about the badge.

So all is not lost for you people forced to chose between Scion and Subie!

Unless of course Toyota USA don't have access to this database like Toyota UK. They did have to log out of it and log back into the "JDM" section though

Three things.

1.) Interesting story about the focus group. Wish I could've been there.

2.) I'd never seen the new Gap logo. The old one is classic, of course, but I like the new one.

3.) A Scion is only as ricy as the owner makes it. I have seen plenty of Scions that I'd be proud to drive.

Let it die, TMC doesn't need 3 US brands. They are following GM's mistake. But you really don't need 8 compacts either choose the best sellers. Yaris, Corolla, matrix, xb, xd, tc, iq, frs.

Your biggest worry is SCION on the trunk lid as a LED light. You could change all emblems and wheel caps, but that would be to stay unless you shave it, assuming that is getting into production. You know Scion doesn't want there flagship re-badged. Doesn't help their rep.

i`m sure a lot of mustang/camaro enthusiasts have a lot to say about the new ones.
That's a good thing. "Hardcore fans of the good ol hachi" is a VERY small subset of what is already a VERY small subset of car owners ("enthusiasts"). Making it a car for everybody is the only way to give it a chance of selling enough to make it past one model year. Yes, that means it's going to be compromised from our perspective in certain ways, but that's just a fact of life. Around here, I hear a lot of "it's too heavy, I'm going to gut it," and other such nonsense. No you're not. And neither is anyone else, at least in statistically significant numbers from Toyota's perspective. When enthusiasts gather in groups like this, it's easy to forget that the rest of the world just doesn't care about RWD, light weight, or even manual transmissions anymore.

We're VERY lucky to be getting a small, light, RWD sports car at all. Historically speaking, they just don't sell. They could brand it as a Turdbucket, I don't care. The name is the least of this car's problems.

I'm 29 an I feel too old for the Scion brand BUT
the way things are looking I will buy the scion version and simply swap badges with Subaru
I miss my WRX like I've never missed anything before.
I might end up dropping a WRX engine in this thing anyways.
