I知 going to try out the Falken 660痴 for local events. I知 shocked how much heavier they weigh. I weighed them to compare against my mostly worn Yokos and they were 6.5lbs heavier! I think part of the heft is because the Falkens are a decent amount wider and there was way more tread on those than the worn out Yokos.

It will be interesting to see if I need to make any suspension adjustments. I can tell they are a much stiffer tire than the Yokos. We値l see what kind of pace they have compared to the Yokos too.

Don't know what size you are running, but Tire Rack lists the 245/40/17 Falken at 26 lbs and the Yok at 22 lbs, so sounds about right comparing full tread to worn.

It will be interesting, I know the SuperK guys. They had had the new Kuhmos and such and were testing at Barber last weekend. It will be interesting to see what they say on them. Not sure how much back to back testing they are doing/what tires they brought with.

If the new Kumho are anything like the ACR tires, they will be the tire to have I think.

The initial reports I've read seem to say the CR-1 is at least on par with the A052. I'm tempted to try them, but the A052 has treated me very well.

Pretty sure the CR-1 was what was on SuperK when it won UMI KOTM autox this year(one of the only events that pays out cash). They were not the fastest car on the property, but consistency and not hitting cones is the only way to make it through a bracket. My other buddy's "zr1" and Evo9 was about 2 seconds faster in raw times on a 30 second course, but both clipped cones in elimination. Both cars on Kuhmo ACR tires.

Any of you guys running upgrade clutches and/or flywheels? My 2nd TOB is about to die, so was considering upgrading while I have the tranny dropped. I thought an Exedy stage 2 clutch and racing flywheel might be worth doing. Not sure if there would be any big drawbacks for Autox though?

When did the rule change to allow aftermarket? I know it did I'm just going to feel dumb if I didn't upgrade when I had the chance lol. I did an exedy oem replacement last winter with a new exedy oem replacement flywheel as well (and new white-dot OEM tob).

I may me in the wrong here. For some reason I though clutch upgrades were allowed in STX. If not I’ll just be going with the OEM replacement I guess. Would a forged clutch fork be allowed at least? Stock one seems really flimsy.

Current rule book there is no mention of clutches or flywheels in the Street Touring section.
IE: they cannot be non-oem.

14.10.O was added this year (proposed in July 2020 Fastrack, implemented for '21 ruleset)

The clutch disk and pressure plate may be modified or replaced

Annoyingly vague, intention is for it to not be a performance modification (hence no lightweight flywheel) and there as a reliability mod for the FWD hot hatches that are having trouble with the OE clutches failing like the Civic Si and GTI.

edit; @e1_griego @smg1138

Interesting... I do see that within the 2021 rules (hadn't seen them until now), however, first thing I found from 2020 fast track was this:

Street Touring Category

#27484 Aftermarket Clutch
Thank you for your input. The STAC does not feel that allowing aftermarket clutches is in the spirit of the
category.

Yeah I knew the rule had been changed, just not sure when -- I did my clutch before June 2020 so nothing missed on my part haha.
