the more stable BRZ suspension setup and better tires should have been favored over the Toyota86 during the drive invites in japan. Id be surprised if no one who test drove both during testing week found a difference between the two.

Maybe they made that statement just to create suspense... due to the fact that they didn't even have time to test drive the Toyota FT86

That's a pretty bold statement to make for the sake of suspense. Altho "feels better" is subjective
