A set of renderings coming from Japan try to get us ready for the last version of the beloved Nissan R35 GT-R.

We are probably hours away before Nissan pulls the wraps off the 2017 GT-R and all we got so far is speculations and very few details coming from the company’s officials.

The renderings imagine a subtle facelift, with new bumpers all around and a new front grille that follow the lines of the familiar shape, keeping faithful to the original concept and updating it just enough to make it look more modern.

What really grasped our attention, though, was the interior, where the render artist went berserk and imagined a must more thorough update. It looks like a huge digital screen now runs from the instrument binnacle to the center of the dash, with the center console now featuring more upmarket switchgear and finish.

Although we don’t believe Nissan will take such drastic measures, we get why the artist focused on the cabin so much. Customers criticized Nissan for the interior quality and style, which is not on par with the most of its rivals. Then we had a report saying that the GT-R's program manager, Hiroshi Tamura, wants to send off the R35 GT-R by making it feel more premium.

“I want to make the GT-R more premiere… not just fancy, but real premium, Quality. Handling quality, ride and comfort quality, NVH quality, some high quality in the body construction… we still have big opportunities here,” he said.

The new 2017 Nissan GT-R is expected to be revealed at the New York Auto Show.

that pic? I don't think so.

renderings yes. but not that one.

edit: you could be right though. no idea. grabbed it from a gtr forum. some guy posted it from the NY auto show before the revealing (which is later today)

Nissan's new 2017 GT-R brings 565 HP, a new premium cabin, better connectivity and other performance enhancements to this year's New York International Auto Show.

According to Nissan, the refreshed GT-R's enhancements can be split into five key areas: exterior design, interior refinement, driving performance, ride comfort and advanced technology. First, the car features a fresh look both inside and out, though exterior mods can be a little subtle to spot if you're not paying close attention.

The front end is rocking the new V-motion grille, which has a matte chrome finish, an updated mesh pattern and has been slightly enlarged to provide better cooling. The hood is also new (and reinforced), with pronounced character lines flowing from the grille to the base of the windshield.

"This new GT-R is the most advanced, most refined and most progressive sports car that Nissan has ever built. And that is saying a lot," stated Nissan executive VP of marketing & sales Daniele Schillaci. "As the standard bearer for great Japanese engineering and design, the GT-R has always remained true to its Japanese character. It symbolizes Nissan's ability to set the agenda. From the onset, GT-R has pushed the envelope by combining the class and refinement of Grand Touring vehicles with the power and precision of a racing car. This new 2017 GT-R refines the legend in a most powerful way."

It's okay, i mean they didn't ruin it, just refreshed it. I still prefer the 2008-2010 model the best. Just loved that front end
