Wide tires for autocross

I am new to the frs world, coming from lsx platforms looking for a light turbo car for autox to have some fun in and dd around town. Looking for help with offsets to be able to run some wide tires and supporting suspension mods to do such. Plan on getting seibon wide front fenders for about a 1/2 inch extra clearance. Want to run 18x9.5 with 275 upfront and 18x10.5 with either 295 or 305 out back. Front I can find the answer to, could not find anyone running this wide outback though

Welcome aboard

I haven't read about anyone running tyres that wide on the rear. Off the top of my head I think I read about someone running 285 but there was rubbing. Why not just go with 275 square to keep the car balanced?

How much power are you planning on putting down?

275 came on my camaro, that can barely hold down 350whp in a 3500lb car, I now run 315 on it. No way it will stick in a 2800lb car. I thought about the rocket bunny kit in the rear but I REALLY don't like that it's a lip that in no way blends with the rest of the car and is riveted in. I saw another kit that looks better(don't remember the manufacturer) that is a 2 piece kit, one for the quarter panel and one for the rear bumper, but it is still rivets and it goes over the factory quarter so you can't drop and you must use stiff springs to prevent rubbing. I just want to see what this platform can really do if it was more like the concept car that had 11' wheels out back. As for power I would like to run 400 or so on the street and turn it up to 600 for track use. I'm surprised there isn't a bigger aftermarket following for the little car but maybe that is because I'm used to the ls/lt's whee products come out so quickly. I like the full blown stage 2 package just need bigger tires in the rear to handle it because what's the point of having power if you can't get it to the road?

Why only 600HP on the track? You should go with at least 1000 Hp. 1500 would be even better.

Thanks for the sarcasm, because you think 600 is not usable doesn't mean others do not

If you're seriously considering 400whp for autox, I hope you have deep pockets for LOTS of supporting mods.

If you want to run the same turbo for autox and track, it's going to be WAY too big to be responsive in the midrange for autox, or won't flow nearly enough for 600whp.

Nothing against the FB kit, but it's going to be terrible for autox, and not responsive enough for my tastes for track driving.

My car, which won SM in 2002-2003 and took 3rd & 4th in 2004: 434 HP @ 10 psi with 345s in the rear. Oh, and it can be yours for stupidly short money.

I'm glad you're looking to use the power for AX only, because Element Tuning has the only big-HP road race car, making above 350whp and they have had to do many MANY oiling mods and other mods to help keep things together.

Dealing with the heat will also be a huge issue.

I love the idea of 315's in back though.

Just run a RB rear kit and hog the rear fenderwells out so you can run the 315's while lowered properly.
