Part throttle faster than full throttle

I noticed that when I am accellerating using half throttle and then push the pedal to full that the car seems to accelerate slower or bog. Has anyone experienced this?

I've only noticed full throttle bogging when I go from no/light throttle to full throttle at lower rpm's, and it only lasts for a second. When I go from half throttle to full throttle, there is a notable increase in acceleration for me.

Actually yeah I was thinking about that two days ago. I feel that our car reacts more around 4 rpm.

I noticed the same thing today as I was heading home. Floored it trying to cut around traffic and felt the bog as you've described at full throttle. Slightly annoying, not sure what could fix this.

In theory you may get a gain lower in the rev range with a slightly closed throttle as this keeps the gas speed up but as you approach higher rpm the throttle will then need opening up

is this the case?

Exactly. You only notice it when you stomp on the gas and expect to go somewhere.
This is definitely a driver's car. That doesn't just mean it's fun for a good driver. It also means you have to drive it well to get anything out of it, but it will reward you if you do. When you find yourself in a situation where you anticipate a likely need for sudden acceleration, downshift so you are above the torque dip and ready to go. When you stand on it, the car will take off nicely. Takes a little getting used to cruising along at 50 or 60 with the engine buzzing at 5,000 rpm but it works and it isn't usually for very long.

Could be, but it also could be the fact when we're going WOT, we're expecting the force of acceleration (151lbs of fury!), so our bodies naturally tense up and bracing ourselves and therefore numbing the sensation.

I always feel like my 450+whp STI is slow when I drive it but, when someone else is driving and I'm in the passenger seat, I'm like

Just a theory

Seems that we all notice this behavior in late model Subaru's and drive by wire systems.

thats most small engines.. goin full throttle at a low rpm is jus flooding the engine with air that it cant use yet, which is also compensated with more fuel

I noticed a while ago that after about 3/4 peddle there is no diff in power if I floor it. Thats in any gear any rpm. I believe it to be the drive by wire as well.
