At the end of the day, there have been good improvements made, and they are allowing us to buy a car that does not exist anywhere elsewhere in the current new car market. The rest is pretty much irrelevant at this point. I am very very grateful to Toyota and Subaru for continuing to make this car for us to enjoy.

No video but quite a positive review.

Couple of concerning quotes from Cnet...

"...oh, and road noise, because there's a hell of a lot of that, too." Wondering how much of this is exaggerated. Or if its just the tire choice.

"...Interior creaks." First I've read on interior noises. Assuming a 1 off or a crazy nitpick about the center console

"The throttle can feel a little soupy when taking off, as if the computer is purposefully trying to smooth out my input..." This was my main worry, but something I bet a tune will resolve near immediately.

Lot of positive in the review - thanks for the link

For me, I'm curious about the throttle complaint. Every Subie I've ever driven or owned has had a very touchy throttle. I can't imagine that the throttle is "soupy" unless you are not driving the car very well.

He is talking about the initial delay from idle (or more specifically from 0 throttle), which is common in most cars, including the existing twins.

Can be fixed with a tune or a throttle controller.

Clutch Spring?

Has anyone heard whether the new models have the silly spring on the clutch that the prior models had?

I'm a bigger buy, and getting the old one off was a PIA...

Almost guaranteed. No production car is going to have a clutch without a helper spring, unless the throw is really long to compensate (like on German cars).

Multiple journalists said that the clutch feel has changed, so it's likely they've changed the rate for that spring, possibly making it similar to that of MTEC springs.

I know we all aren’t buying this car for the mpg, but I couldn’t believe the mpg they got. 35mpg is impressive.
