If you were really bored in 6 months then a truck sounds like a better fit for you. Driving clearly doesn’t get you excited. But if I recall correctly you did the valve recall and the dealer botched the job and your blaming the whole platform for the dealers shitty work. Rather than be pissed at the dealer you are here pretending the car was boring.

Just curious, what are you driving now? My guess is you’re driving your moms car until you can financially recover from you’re 6 month old 2013 with blown engine.

Have you driven a Twin because you can’t compare an RSX Type-S to a Twin. I’ve driven Twins, Porsche’s, BMW’s, the Z cars, an RSX Type-S, S2000’s, Integra Type-R, 1300HP Ford GT and many more. The Twins, S2000 and ITR were the most memorable to me. The Z car is by far my least memorable. Not everyone wants to drive a numb feeling car simply because it’s fast in a straight line.
Same here!

The 350/370Z has gobs of power but from the factory, the lack of LSD and its piggish steering makes me find it an almost-there car but not quite. The S2000 in PURE stock form, understeered too thanks to the stagger and horrible alignment but one quick alignment later, it transforms significantly.

I don't miss co-driving the Z but I do miss the S2000!

The ITR that my friend let me track was pure bliss. Does everything I want it to do. Understeer? Got it. Oversteer? Sure thing! Neutral? Go! Once I did a few laps in it, I can understand why the hype was there. Great engine, great tranny and amazing overall dynamics.

This is where I think the new twin falls under. It's basically as balanced of a sports car as you can find and not single aspect on any one thing. It truly is an epitome of where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Best engine ever? Nope. Best tranny ever? CTR would argue no. But whole thing including price tag and operation costs? Quite likely.

The CTR overheats on long power tracks (ask me how I know).

The 350/370Z desperately needs cooling and LSD.

Other cars along the same veins as the twins cost hella more to run. Porsche tax anyone?

At 450 ish pounds heavier (3 passengers worth) There will be no comparison handling wise as far as communication to the driver. The gen 1 86 with bolt on parts is a hell of a car to toss around and with header and proper tune it's fast enough. The Z with more power and less communication will attract a different buyer than the 86.

There is little doubt the new twins will have the edge in handling finesse but writing off the new Z based on the 370 is premature. In a recent interview the lead engineer talked about some of the changes they are making to the Z, including an entirely new power steering unit and major modifications to the suspension, to ensure it is a "dancing partner" for the driver. The development team is clearly aware of the 370's reputation as an "8 10ths car" (as Harris notably put it) and are intent on addressing that. I for one hope they succeed.

The top spec Z will be amazing. Clutch type LSD, big brakes.

The bottom spec will be terrible. Show pony only.

We are so fortunate with the low spec of the twins, and unless you are comparing the 'performance' version of the Z, then forget about it.

The upgraded Z though, that thing will be amazing - though I think it might land in the high 40's

I am unable to get past the front end with a right angled box and a set of headlights that are WAY over styled. My mind cannot put them together, its like someone put a carboard box in front of me with a photo on top of some girl with massive eyeliner makeup. wtf. Not saying others cant like it, but for me its god damn crazy, worse in motion than I thought.

I'm guessing the top spec Z will be near $50k or more. A few things:

1. No back seats, for some of us, back seats are a requirement
2. We're now up to a $20k difference between the two cars.
3. At the $50k mark, competition becomes fierce. You have the Mustang Mach1, the new BMW M240ix (Supra with back seats, AWD), Supra

At $30k without many options, the BRZ is a bargain.

Dude on another thread already snagged his Limited with options up for 30.5K (excluding dealer fees). I'd bet it will become a norm some bit of time down the road to snag a fully loaded twin up for under 30K.

I got my 2018 BRZ Limited with PP and optional package for 26K with only 8 miles on it, sitting indoors.

It seems like there's not even $2k between invoice and MSRP. Yes some dealers might dig into holdback, but a limited is $31.5k without accessories including destination, but the BRZ is priced extremely attractively IMO.

Yeah, I'm hoping the Performance trim comes in mid-40s. If you look at other cars with a similar package. The old mustang GT track pack, 1LE package for Camaro. They have been around $6-7k.

The once the hype dies down, dealers will start slashing prices, just like Ford Dealers do on Mustangs.

I'm inclined to wait for the performance package to be available for the GR86/BRZ before I buy one (if I buy one). Those larger brakes are a necessity for me.

If the Z isn't available with an LSD as standard then forget it. Will be out of my price range.

Any reason not to just buy an AP Sprint kit? Longer rotor and pad life, cheaper pads, removes a nice bit of weight.

Looks pretty expensive for all 4 corners, or am I looking in the wrong places?

Yes, AP sprint kit is pricey. Gotta pay to play, if you need it.

Something tells me a new used Z could be a good deal in the future.
