Sorry to hear that.

You're a good man for helping her out and sticking beside her.

tell her to make a deal with the doctors. if she agrees to radiation, it has to give her a super power.

While shopping some parts to work on my brother-in-law's car. I had the opportunity, no, the privilege, to park right next to a 1974 911 RSR, which I believe used to be red, the paint had faded to a pink-ish. I had never seen one up close, and it was... it was the most god damn sexiest thing I've ever seen in my life. I hoped I would've run into the owner inside the parts store, but the owner must've been shopping somewhere else in the plaza.

Being poor sucks.

Have a block of time booked off at the beginning of August and I planned to go to my family's summer property.

Not looking very likely right now. (4) reasonably sized out of control fires within 10km of our place North & South. Lots of pine beetle kill in the area fueling it all. Entire lake area on evacuation alert right now.

Close to 1000 fires across BC right now. The overall map looks pretty grim.

Another heat warning issued in the area this week. No significant rain in the forecast.

Just waiting and watching to see what happens...

Tough situation all around, very sorry for you and your family.

I went through something similar recently with two close relatives. One chose an institutional big box type facility, the other a specialized foster care home. There were significant differences.

The big box place hired "caregivers" after they received 18 hours of online training and 2 hours of OJT to become certified. There was constant turnover making consistent quality care a crapshoot.

The foster care home was run by certified caregivers, three generations of the same family, who had been doing their jobs for about 30 years. Consistency helps provide some relief to those in end of life care and the overall surroundings were more homey and compassionate.

Overall, the caregiver/resident ratio was about 1/20 for the big place, 1/6 for the foster home.

So if your sister is still considering options, I'd vote for a specialty foster home for higher quality care at lower cost. There are many rating sites though I'd start by contacting a nearby hospital outplacement service for a referral either to a facility or broker.

Take care...

Got my 2nd microchip implant yesterday. Sore arm all day but, fine. Got off work , drove home, and took a warm shower. Didn't even finish getting dressed and a wave of chills hit me like a brick. It is 95+ out, 77ish inside my home and my teeth are litterally chattering and I have goosebumps like it is subzero out. :/

I'm thinking another 30min of internet, an old fashion, and early bed. Hope she's gone tomorrow.

I had taco bell for the first time in years. I had two crunchy stool softners, a cheesy diarrhea rap, and an explosive bowel supreme.

Good stuff.

I haven't had taco bell in probably over a decade, and those word perfect describe it all. I can even smell and taste that shit.

The wife and I received our second shots late Saturday afternoon. They warned us that the second dose can have more sever side effects. I woke up with a sore arm but nothing else. The wife has a sore arm, arches & pains, hot flashes followed by cold chills. And then, without warning... The dreaded 2nd shot trots hit! This is day two with no sign of letting up. She say she's cleaned out more than a colonoscopy cleanse! Hope she's better tomorrow, we have a three hour drive to take our little dog to the heart specialist.
