I have done a few things this week in preparation for my first drift event this Friday. On Monday I installed my fire extinguisher and bought myself a helmet. Went the vintage look and absolutely love it. Bell Indy 500 1974 for those who want to know.

Verus Motorsports Art!!

Ended up also receiving some Verus Engineering parts on Tuesday. The quality of this is stuff is just second to none. Especially the LCAs I could hang them up as art. In love that much. Also, a reason I went for the Verus Engineering LCA is they recently created a bracket for the auto level light sensor, so for those who do care about that, this is a good option. Also a bit shout out the @VeloxEric for his help. Been in contact with him over the past year with numerous stuff in getting things organised and he has been an absolute legend. Anyone who is considering buying stuff from aero parts to suspension goodies hit him up. He will take care of you.

Ferodo DS2500 Pads

Also ended up purchasing some DS2500 pads for my car at track days. Will be using these only for track days until I burn through my stock pads and then use them as both street and track pad.

I was going to use the DS2500 for daily driving and back road runs and DS1.11 for track, but after speaking to Chris at V-Sport in Sydney, he advised me for going with the DS2500. This will very much be specific to each individual. Considering my car is n/a, track isn't hard on brakes and I won't be using a semi slick (will be using Michelin Pilot Sport 4), I was advised that the DS2500 will be up to the task. Again, this is all dependent on individual circumstances.

If anyone in Sydney is looking at big brake kits or brake info and products, definitely hit up V-Sport. Very knowledgeable people and definitely willing to give you some honest advise. For those outside of sydney, contact Comp Friction; especially if you are interested in AP Racing kits as they are the distributor for Australia.

Just another video of my new exhaust set up. This time from the outside. Driving around town boxer sounds awesome. Once I give it, over 4k it is just intoxicating. I know i keep saying the same stuff but it just sounds too good!!

Went to my first drift event last night. Unfortunately despite getting there an hour early, missed out on getting a run as it was open to the first 40 cars. I was the 44th!!

Still had an absolute blast though. Met up with a fellow 86 owner and went for a passenger ride and even that itself was an awesome experience. Have already booked and paid for my first official drift day on the 18th November. Can't wait!!

Also will be going to my first trackday on the 16th December. Hoping by then to have the car track prepped by then. Need to install my suspension, wait for my wheels and tyres to arrive and install my oil cooler as well.

Will be going to a Dyno day on the 2nd December. Would be interesting to see how the dynapack Dyno compares to the Dyno dynamics. Very interested to see what the variance will be. Hopefully temperature won't be too different so results are comparable

And pics of your velox/verus stuff on the car?
I wonder if @VeloxEric can let me know where/how I could get pricing on stuff for South Africa?

Just e-mail us (sales@verus-engineering.com) with a zip code/address and we'll quote it

Thanks,
Eric

Thank man

Here is a link to the one I got specifically. I think any 1kg should fit in the same area. Only downside (not to me but definitely to others) is that when installed, it blocks access to the 12v. I have seen though other 1kg extinguishers where there is still access. Mine is quite narrow and tall. a more fatter and shorter one should alleviate this issue.

At the moment, none of the stuff is currently installed. have it all ready to go. Reason being now that I have done a few mods, want to learn the car and its behaviours (will be doing this at the drift event and track day that I will be doing in the next month).

I will be installing all of their stuff post my first track day on the 16th. Will be taking time off from then until the end of the year so all of their stuff will be on before Christmas. At the moment I am prioritising my oil cooler, and once my wheels come (late Nov hopefully) suspension and tyres.

And @VeloxEric already beat me to it!! Too good!!

@86 South Africa @Boomerang Also for the extinguisher kit, requires just two holes to be drilled into the plastic and secured with self taper bolts. It honestly takes 5min to uninstall so can easily retain cup holders for everyday and then install for track days etc

Yep was going to ask about that but you beat me to it!

Have you got tint on your car yet?
It makes a difference in summer temps and looks nice(subjective)

Yeah car has tints. Running the Suntek Carbon series 25%. Definitely blocks out the heat. For me it's perfect. Darkens the window but not limousine dark but can also see out at night with windows up.

I will post a pick of it when I get home. Need to update you guys on what it looks like now. Not overly different but much nice IMO
