Help needed with Vland Headlights BRZ

Hello I have a 2013 brz and recently installed vland headlights and also purchased the morimoto ballast, igniter and D2H headlights. After install my headlights works and turn lights work but unfortunately the daytime lights on vlands are not working, but oem is working. I searched online and didn’t find a fix. Also there is a noticeable gap between headlights and frame of car.

I have similar situation.

I have been turning on the DRL manually from light stalk. but I would prefer if they came on automatically like the OE ones did.

Are you referring to the boomerangs because those are not DRLs? The boomerangs aren’t DRLs on the stock headlights either. The bumper DRLs should still work.

See. Turn on car = nothing. Lower parking brake = bumper DRLs comes on. Turn parking lights on = boomerangs only and other accessory lights, DRLs shut off. Turn headlights on = boomerangs and headlights are on.

Apologies, I must not have read the bumper DRL part
I have a 2013 FR-S and the DRLs are in the headlight for my vehicle.

This is why I assumed the boomerangs were intended to be DRL on VLAND and OE BRZ headlights.

The VLAND boomerangs are designed to run with the parking lights, similar to the BRZ setup that @Irace86.2.0 linked to. This is not a problem, this is working as intended.

You could do some wiring to enable boomerangs to stay on as DRL. Determine on the harness what wire operates boomerang, and solder a wire from DRL wire (vland) to DRL wire in bumper (brown).

I did this for my OEM headlights (2015) when installing switchbacks.

sharpsicle is correct.

I ended up soldering an extension cable to the white wires and running into the fuse box. Those white DRL boomerangs are on when the car is on.

I have a 2014 BRZ myself, with these headlights via OLM on FTSpeed, they are advertised as DRLs per their video too. Also stated to be plug in play per FTSpeed. I reached out to them on this and they were not apparently aware of this, and they told me to wire it to accessory which is kinda crazy. They then explained that for the 2017 models it works normally because it's wired for those essentially. leaving poor 2013-2016 models thrown under the bus.

I've been fishing around in the wiring diagrams from Subaru but it's all gibberish to me. I have no problem splicing into a cable from the electrical harness for the headlight connector to get this DRL running at all times, I just need to know the cable so I don't have to route a single wire all the way to my fuse box lol

if anyone has any clue what I can splice into so I don't add more wire spaghetti to my car that'd be much appreciated. trying to keep things clean understandably

Also I was using the Diode Dynamics Always on module as well with my OEM lights before i made the switch, was thinking of re-using that potentially but the problem is I don't know what wire to splice into on their harness either. they aren't much help.

You could use a multimeter, flip between light modes on the stalk and determine which power is switching on then reroute power. I would do it, but I’m not really invested in trying to figure it out.

Well I'm invested... but not gonna lie a little lazy. I ended up giving Diode Dynamics a call to see if they'll give me a wiring diagram and they ended up being pretty helpful, apparently their engineering team might be willing to send me one just need to wait for them to get back to their CS team. If the wiring diagram is helpful I'll post info on what to splice into.
