Nothing wrong with that, but I don’t know maybe it’s just me. Perhaps once we see more of them on the road with people doing simple and subtle mods to them. Only time will tell, but the horsepower increase with minimal mods has been pretty impressive to be fair
I agree. It's already powerful and underrated, but with merely a downpipe and a tune, amazing.

I loved seeing all the different Supras online from the show, actually. Some great ideas and creativity. However, no interior shots.

Anyone see any interior mods on them? Would love to see what the aftermarket has in store. Sportier steering wheel maybe? Perforated leather seats with ventilation would be nice too. What about new side mirror designs to combat the wind buffeting issue? Anyone can do bodykits, ironing board-sized wings and wheels...

Not a 2jz-esqe bolt-on build, but still impressive.

Not nearly as impressive when you consider how custom built that engine ended up being.

Because you can same thing with any other engine.

Yes, the 2jz has surpassed 1000hp with stock internals, but maybe the B58 could do that too, yet how long would it last, and how long would the 2jz last?

I think it would be stretch to say that a similar build on any engine would be able to achieve the same results. The FA20, for instance, couldn't. It couldn't even make a proportional amount of power to the B58's power on a similar build, even if we were to deduct a third of the power to account for the smaller displacement. The FA20 would need more than pistons, rods, bearings, port, polish, etc.; someone would need to do a sleeve and girdle upgrade or a closed deck conversion.

Well, local dealer (Priority Toyota Springfield) has a Black Friday sale and is discounting a 3.0 over $4K (this includes all rebates of course). MSRP is $55,140 and sale price is $50,840!

Nice! $50k for a new Premium?

I'm sure it'll drop even more once GM starts pumping out the C8 in greater quantities.

It’s not a premium, it’s a base with all the options. I’m sure I could work with the dealer to get a premium near the same price. I know for a fact they have a turbulence gray premium that’s been on their lot since the beginning of August and they’re really anxious to sell it. MSRP on it is $1k more than the base one

No you can't. It has a forged crank, reinforced mains and girdle, closed deck among other things stock. See how many engines you blow when you don't actually understand what's involved in making 1000hp on a case by case basis which I can tell you don't based on that comment.

I guess Toyota just tossed darts at a wall to determine which engine to use and the Supra is just a rebadged Z4. Am I right?

Also if you pay attention, the pistons and rods weren't swapped just to make 1000hp. This is stage one, they plan to make more than 1000hp. What they did was more about their particular use case and future plans for the application than just to make a 1000hp for SEMA show.

I wonder how many LEs are still unsold (1500 total) since I've seen local dealerships advertising base models (Alcantara seats, no JBL, cheaper HU, etc.) already.

Also, anyone have any idea how many C8s have been sold?

I read somewhere they were sold out for next year. Also, expect the price to increase a fair bit in ‘21
