That’s all true but it’s obviously too late to change anything now. However, that leaves the door wide open for the aftermarket. Don’t think it’ll take much to make it look better than factory, though. Really excited to see them modded here soon

Personally, I love the look of the front grille/nose and the duckbill rear end. Those make it stand out and definitely offer a unique race look. The only reason anything looks off imho is because they had to narrow the car for production and shrink the concept down. Wider fenders really bring the Supra back to where it should have been stock. See the Gazoo track car. Still, it's a great looking car for those of us not tied to more conventional conservative rinse/repeat designs. Sure turns plenty of heads and most of the reaction of gen pop is positive.

A couple things I noticed sitting in it at the car show. On a positive note, somehow I was able to adjust the steering wheel higher clearing more space for my legs in the Supra than the Z4 which I found interesting since they are supposedly 'identical' clones based on the dummies out there who don't know what badge engineering is or the history of this car's development. On the negative side, the front of the hood is really rather tall and I was afraid of that. It's quite hard to find the front of the car which can be annoying for some of us more aggressive type drivers, lol. I know it's an inline-6, but I have to imagine there is extra space sitting under there for euro pedestrian standards. If this is the case, I wish this had explosive bolts so the hood could be lowered like Jaguar's Pedestrian Deployable Bonnet System (PDBS). Maybe a higher end spec in future? Please??

"The Toyota beat the BMW M2 around Laguna, 1:40.57 versus 1:40.83. How did the 335-hp, automatic-transmission Toyota beat the 405-hp, dual-clutch M car? Let's just say the Supra's power numbers are comically underrated."

Hmmm. And sources are also saying it rides better than the M2.

Those times are too close to each other to declare the Supra the faster car.

True. But still a noteworthy accolade.

Really because it takes longer to read "1:40.57 versus 1:40.83" than the time represents. a 0.13% or 0.14 second difference in time is just a shoulder shrug unless you were in a head to head drag race. Take one turn 6 inches wider than the other and you probably have a bigger time difference.

Um, 1) duly noted and 2) don't shoot the messenger.

I just thought it was an interesting observation by the editors and test drivers at MT since everyone raves about the (more expensive) M cars (here, the M2.)
