If it's still under warranty, maybe consider taking it to the dealership?
I do have the extended warranty and am taking it Wednesday!

Attention mechanically competent people:

Hypothetically, if you clogged/cross threaded a captive (welded on) m8-1.25 nut in a place that was really hard to drill out but only had 3/4 turn of good thread to work with would you attempt to tap it to original spec or drop the entire catback to drill out the hole and tap it larger? Assume cutting it off and welding on a replacement is the least convenient option.

It's always the last damn bolt...

Depends on what it is. If it’s a blind hole I would helicoil or some other thread insert. If it’s through bolt can you just run a regular nut on the other side if there is space.

It is indeed a through hole. I suppose I could run a smaller bolt through it for the moment.

You may be able to squeeze a 5/16 bolt through there without having to redrill it.

It was a M8-1.25 now it's a M6. M7 barely wouldn't fit for some reason. I think a 5/16 would have been too big considering the threads.

Catback of some kind is planned for this winter anyway so I'll just drill it out and do a real repair then.

Rewatched The Rock. I've been on a kick of cheesy 90's and early 00's movies. I have decided to jump on the bandwagon that it is the last official Connery Bond film.

LMAO nothing can beat Face Off in terms of cheesy 90's nostalgia. Broken Arrow was very entertaining too!

Ultra, I am your father.

Funny thing is Darth Vader had so few lines in the 1977 movie it only took 2 hours for him to voice over all the lines, and he made like $2k.
