yes, also there is so much tint on my sidemarkers you can't see that they are on, when in fact they are on...
I DID NOT RUB AT ALL. you can see how hard it was cornering, no rubbing. all i had to do was roll the lip by the sidemarkers up front, and trim the bumper tabs in the rear. however this was also with 3.5 camber in the rear. i'll be back on track after i get my car back in a week and i'll let you guys know how it is once we set hte alignment to -2 all around. |

If someone was looking to go for a similar set up but wanted less to no camber just to preserve tires, as this type of set up would be for DD, would it be possible to get slightly less offset and less camber and still fit well? |

my camber arms are MAXED out. so i can't get any less than -2 right now unless i raise the car. in all honesty, -2 isn't that much for DD. i ran that much on my sti and my tires wore evenly and i ran bigger tires on my STi. i also drive pretty hard, cornering wise that is. the biggest killer of tires is TOE, not camber. it also depends where most of your driving is, etc etc. just camber alone wont ruin tires, lots of variable here.
however it would definitely be possible to run a higher offset, and run less camber you just can't be as low, like i said once we fixed the camber at this height, we couldn't get the toe in check so i had to order adjustable Toe arms. |

if the tires are warmed up and up to temp is VERY predictable. however before they were up to temp its just all over the place.

to be honest, unless you're always beating the shit out of you car in a straight line you wont really notice. especially those of use who will do power mods anyway...

the tock purch is massive so if you go with a high offset and a wide wheel/tire you might not clear it on the inside, thus coilovers also not only help you gain performance but also inside clearance. a 255/35/18 on a 9.5 could be perfectly square if you get a tire that runs wide like a MPSS, Z2, or federals...i havne't test fitted on stock suspension so i cannot comment on that. also to be honest with you, dont waste money on springs unless you're doing a full on strut/spring setup, you'll most likely not be happy with the desired drop and unless you go with performance springs, most of hte lowering springs just ruing the ride...however i do realize it's not in everyone's budget so if you HAD to go for the best of ride and looks and MUST get a spring look into the Mach v springs.... but here are things to keep in mind. on a 8' wheel a 245/40 is square. and on a 9.5' wheel a 265/35 is square FOR THE MOST PART. now some 255's run big thus they can easily fit on a 9.5 wheel where as other run narrow so they will be square on a 8.5/9' wheel. hope this helps. -ivan |

okay here are some recent updates so that people who run something similar dont run into surprises, might as well use my experience to help.
First of all, YOU WILL RUB at first. its the plastic part of the rear bumper, its not a big deal and will rub itself out of you can dremel it. (the corner to the bumper inside the fender) Second i had an issue with my passenger fender, it rubbed on the part closest to the sidemarkers. if you feel the fender there, it isn't rolled anymore and flares out, you want to roll that part in to avoid any issues in the future or else you risk chipping the paint or gashing the tire....i luckily caught it early. Third, and probaby most important. once we let the KW's settle we had to take camber out. it settle to around -3.5' in the rear. i did not want to run that much at all, nor do i need that much for clearance issues. we maxed out the camber arms (cusco) which net me a minimum or -2 degrees. once we set the camber to -2 the stock toe arms were simply not enough to fix the toe issue thus i had to order whitline adjustable toe arms. I WILL UPDATE WITH MY FINAL ALIGNMENT SPECS...for now i'm waiting for a few things to be done/come in for the car until i get to drive it and get it back on the alignment rack... I WILL UPDATE THE FIRST POST AS I KEEP DIALING THIS WHEEL SETUP IN. for some people wondering...yes i could have went much smaller with wheels/tires. yes this is technically overkill however i want my car to drive good AND look good therefor i think this is the best of both worlds FOR ME. decide what you want out of your car and then see what fits that. and if anyone is in the tristate area...and wants to see this or need work/track prep/parts/ wants to bullshit i'll expect to see you at @AZP Installs |

the rubbing was never an issue, it was minor and took me maybe 5 minutes to address, i could have not said anything about it at all but figured i could pass on the info even though its minor. Quote:
