Engine Blew, any shop recommendations?

So my engine blew at 46k miles, while I'm far away from home. I drove across the country in late April, now I'm in Fullerton CA. Thank god I did purchase an extended warranty from Interstate through the credit union when I financed. The car is currently at J&E in Glendale, I chose them on a whim because I didn't have much time to make a decision while I was on the side of the highway when my car broke down.

Who is my best bet? I know there's Evasive and Counterspace Garage, though I purchased parts from them in the past I'm not sure if they would take on something like this.

TLDR: I'm mainly looking for a shop that knows the 86 platform and can competently swap in a new motor and possibly a clutch through extended warranty company, in the SOCAL area.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

46k? I think you're still covered under the 5yr/60k warranty from the factory, no?

J&E have pretty good reviews. Why not have that shop do the repair?

Thank you, a friend recommended a repair shop that was willing and seemed to have the knowledge. I will update how this goes.

Currently the warranty company - interstate, wanted receipt of all the previous oil changes. Luckily I was able to provide them..

The shop is ready to disassemble the engine on Monday. And quoted me 2 weeks For an engine replacement.

Meanwhile I’m eyeing the 2020 BRZ TS, or maybe an used camaro ss 1LE. I know which one I will be happier with on the street, and which on the track. Decisions...

Update: test drove the TS, what a car! This might just be it... so much more refinement and chassis composure compared to the MY13 BRZ..

There is a huge difference from 2015 and 2013. The 2015 is when they tuned the suspension to be more neutral.
