First rock chip

Got my first rock chip this weekend. Went to get some touch up paint and Toyota doesn't make them yet. They called and was told it would be at least a month. Anyone had any luck getting some touch up paint for the car? I'm worried it will be just Grey and not have the flake in it.

Picture? If it's not too bad then you could probably get away with waiting for a month or so until you can get a proper match...

You can get the paint from subaru. Its the same color as on other subaru models.

The problem with touch up paint is the way it lays down. It's never going to look perfect and won't have a proper clear coat over it.

I got a ding in my window but none that I know of on the paint yet

Don't you have the "dark grey metallic" scion equivalent? If so I had a bad rock chip on my Legacy which is the exact same color as your car.

I went in and had a clear bra done afterward, cause i was mad, and had them touch it up for me first. I could barely see it afterwards.... this was with subaru touch up paint, not mixed by the shop btw.

Got it. Even the touch up paint looks so good with the grey and the flake in it. So I can fill it in but I'm wet sanding anything. So there will be a little indent were the rock pushed the stock paint up.

Where did you end up getting the Dark Grey Metallic touch up paint from? Local Subaru dealer?

Also, is the 2013 paint used on the BRZ/FR-S the same as the 2012 Subaru's (WRX, STI, etc.)?

Yeah the paint are the same. I've got my touch up paint from a Subaru dealer and it's a perfect fit. My car is Whiteout, and the color code is in the passenger door.
