http://www.scca.com/assets/2013%20So...ated%205-1.pdf - This is the officially released rules from 2013... Street hasn't been officially added yet, but it's essentially the same rule set as stock with different tire rules and additional +/-1" wheel diameter allowance.

Belle Isle at the season ender? I'd chalk that up to cold tires on a very ungrippy surface, it was wet all day too right? That location is also the slowest speed location of anything in the area, which also contributes to understeer. I wouldn't try too hard to adjust my car for that site, the car will be very difficult to manage at the silverdome or any other location where higher speeds are achieved.

Yes, unfortunately it is intended to keep costs down and prevent people from frankensteining cars together and calling them "stock". The car must be offered that way from the dealership floor with that particular option package at a high enough volume to meet the criteria. The only way to can get around this is if there is a provision where that modification is legal per the rules, such as changing to a FRS cat-back exhaust (if they were different than the BRZ)

For example if the BRZ was offered in one package with manual windows and an open rear diff, but another package was offered with auto windows and a limited slip diff... it would be illegal to put the limited slip diff in a manual window car.

Ok, thanks. I'll probably hold off on the sway bar for the first few events next year to see how I cope with the better tires and more experience. I also experianced understeer at belle isle when i was there a couple weeks earlier with MSCC in the dry. I'll just put the understeer down to mostly the surface.

Japanese sports car rivalry might be kicking back up. Pony car wars at full tilt. C7 is being called the best sports car America has produced. Alfa back in sports cars. It's a good time to be a car enthusiast.

Love it!!!

We've been talking to a few Nissan execs on NICOclub recently and they've been hinting at bringing something to market. FINALLY.. it looks like there is some truth behind the rumor.

You are right.. it's a great time to be a car enthusiast.. but I fear it'll be short-lived. Just like the 69-72 muscle car era that got killed by oil prices and CAFE standards.. The same thing is happening now. Oh well.. enjoy it while we can..

So even though the FRS and BRZ are basically the same car, it would still change my class if I just put the FRS springs on my BRZ? I wasn't going to do that but it seems a little weird to me.
Are you guys allowed to run camber bolts or camber plates? Adding camber would be the best way to help that under steer if it's allowed.

Although as Scarrbz pointed out that it would be illegal to swap springs with FRS it may be worth a shot anyways unless you're running at a national level and that stuff actually gets checked. If you were to do that I'd say only swap for the stiffer rears and keep the stock fronts.

I wonder if they would even be able to tell the difference even if they did check. Do the springs look any different? The cars come from the same factory. Either way, It's still cheating so I probably won't do it.

Did the FRS have the 5 axis body kit? If so, may be the same one I saw at the Meijer at 8 and haggerty a while ago.

You can only run the OE "crash bolt" no aftermarket camber bolts.

There was a proposal to allow aftermarket camber bolts and/or camber plates with the adoption of "street", but it was removed. I was severely opposed to the camber plate allowance and I think they received a lot of negative feedback because it was only a benefit for the strut cars, and all the other geometries would not have been allowed to do the same.
