Sapphireho, I hope you're OK.

I think it's pretty clear being up to date on vaccinations will mitigate the severity of the infection, not so much prevent it. That's what all the other precautions are about.

Most of us will get it regardless of Orwellian "precautions ". Statistically we can learn to drive safer or take swimming lessons and make a bigger difference than locking ourselves in our homes.

DANG!, Sapphireho -

I hope it's a mild case.

Did you have a booster shot?

Well, looking on the brighter side, your immunity should be strong by now.

(stay the hell out of those Idaho dive bars - )

I do wish you a speedy recovery.

I don't think we all will get it at all. If most people are fully vaccinated and have taken the necessary precautions the probability will be much lower. Eventually Omicron will completely Peter out and I'm pretty sure many people will never be infected. It's not the effect of Omicron on vaccinated people that is of concern, it's allowing it the unbridled ability to keep going and going, opening yet another opportunity for a more dangerous variant. We have already seen this happen with Delta. Throwing up your hands and surrendering isn't the answer. I only have one personal friend that I know of who has been infected. Then again, I haven't been calling people to take a poll.

I live alone (separated) and only my 14 yr old son and one of his best friends have stayed here unmasked. That friend is living with his grandmother temporarily.

My home is detached so no elevators. I don't go out and about to stores or businesses if I don't need to. I'm also at home, not commuting to a place of work.

People like myself, who are conscious of safety when grocery shopping or going about their business most certainly can avoid exposure. When our current restrictions are lifted at the end of the month I'll be dining out again with my son.

Not to put a hex on myself or my family, but I only know of one person who was infected in my family. Sadly that was my Dad who succumbed just a few weeks shy of his 93rd birthday just over a year ago.

Thanks.

No booster yet. I thought you needed to wait 6 months?

So far no big deal. Sore throat, cough, aches. Thankfully nothing major. No temp, and no lost of taste and smell, just like 2020.

Dive bars make you stronger.

I don't think he would be eligible for a booster yet on the normal timeline

Yep, 5-6 months depending.

Oh, ya, what could possibly go wrong in a dive bar -

Get to feeling better soon -

You are right, Spuds.

However, I doubt that the vets in Idaho keep track that well -
