I assume that's why i got a coupon. They asked for the VIN of my current Subaru. I bought it new (a long time ago) from the dealership where i recently ordered my BRZ.

My coupon is good towards the purchase of a new Subaru. Others have received coupons for parts and service.

The JDM spec ones don't seem to have it.

This charcoal filter sole intention is to catch those gases. From an emissions standpoint id imagine the impact is incredibly small as id assume this is only effective in engine off scenarios or idle like, low RPM scenarios. I'm not even sure how it would be measurable in an emissions test unless its simply part of a checklist: "is the charcoal filter in place? Y/N"

His crosstrek dyno results showed:

Stock af w/ coal: 160 hp 137 tq
Stock af w/o coal: 164 hp 142 tq
Perf af w/ coal: 164 hp 142 tq
Perf af w/o coal: 167 hp 143 tq

So about a 4% increase in hp running without charcoal and high flow AF or about +9 hp in the 22 BRZ
]
That might explain why you guys in the US have the power listed as 228bhp whilst in other markets its 232bhp.

The BRZ likely has a better flowing stock air filter so the gains will be much smaller, but I am curious about the charcoal filter. I should have looked more carefully to see if it was as easily removable as that!

Finally made it! Revs smoother than the first gen higher up and the fake engine noise is quite loud.

PSA: Get a spare tire for your BRZ. Hit a pothole in a parking lot today and ripped the sidewall, the flat-fix kit the car comes with doesn’t fix that (obviously). Worth its weight in gold if you get a tear you can’t address.

Potentially stupid question, but do you have an MT ‘22? And what 2017 filters work—AT or MT?

Yes, I got the $500 towards accessories. And after I called SOA, I got $600 off the price of the car. I owned 2 new Subarus before this.

Yes, '22 MT. 2017+ MT filters should be a drop-in.

Finally got it back from the dealer. Need to take a better look, but I believe the windshield is okay this time.

Homelink mirror still no go. They're getting a 3rd mirror ordered, then will contact Subaru hopefully.

Nah I haven’t posted a bunch since these forums make it difficult and I don’t care to learn

I bought a spare. $40 from some random dude who pulled it out of his last gen BRZ on the side of the road lol. I bought the bolt and hub plate thing and will install. I already put it inside the car and it fits fine.

I don’t understand why Subaru includes a jack and tire iron with the car. It even has a threaded lower hole to put that bolt into.
