One day, someone will fund some dyno time and purchase both headers to back to back test on the same dyno!

I would do it the same way i purchasd 5 ace headers for my own testing, but I'm turbo now, and the 4-2-1 came out after i boosted, so it's not really viable for me at the moment.

Any volunteers?

I bet if someone local purchased both and a tune, CSG may comp the dyno time for the sake of comparison.

I would be down to pitch in $100 for this testing to happen.

I thought ACE vs JDL felt familiar. Same dyno, same correction factors, same gear selection, same load. Nearly the same E85 content pretty sure the same tuner as well. Different cars of course but very similar baselines..

JDL 4-2-1

ACE 350

I had no fitment issues, no locations where the header is making contact. Feels and sounds great.
Hi there,

Few questions for you:
1) Any drone or rasp noise?
2) Do you have any sound clip by any chance?
3) How's the black ceramic coating holding up? do you have any heat issue under the hood?

Thanks!

The drone and rasp was terrible with my TRD catback. I think the drone and rasp is more of a product of your catback. A CSG Touring 86 fixed it and now sounds awesome.

The TRD was awesome before the headers. It's for sale if anyone wants it.

Alright guys your gonna get your wish. I will officially be removing my supercharger for the new upcoming season of the gt86 cup to stay in the street class and to get better as a driver. FI would put me in a class that with this kit I would not be competitive and I want to keep this car as a weekend/track car. With the supercharger Its much more of a pain to get past smog and with just flex fuel and standard ecutek I am hoping this is simpler

So long story short who in the socal area that has flex fuel with ace350 and who would like to do some pulls to compare the JDL 4-2-1 vs ace350 so we can put this argument to rest. Ideally you would be tuned by Zach at csg but not a requirement. Need to get the supercharger removed scheduled so it could be into January.
@CSG David @CSG Mike

Anyone know of good shops to trust in the area for this work.

and the CSG Touring is made by MXP. I have there SP and it pairs well. The CSG Touring 86 exhaust would be my next choice.

That would be a great choice I love mine. I was at the track this weekend with the 86 Cup group and nobody had loud exhausts. All were nice sounding.

May sound like a dumb question, but anyone have a soundclip of the

JDL headers + stock exhaust?
or
JDL headers + CSG touring86

I tried googling, but cant seem to find it anywhere.

i have the JDL and touring 86. I’ll see about doing a sound clip next weekend.

I’ll tell you though that if you want power and you want to actually DRIVE the car without drone, too loud, etc this is the combo you want.

Well today is the day. Supercharger is coming out. Anyone with an ace setup and flex fuel want to get a Dyno done so we can put the debate to rest

I have an ace setup currently and am saving up for a PTuning flex fuel kit, and will tune again with Zach when that happens, but I'm all the way here in miami. if someone has the jdl with FF around here and we could crowdfund a dyno session I'd be willing to test this out. Just throwing that out there lol.

Super curious what a head to head duel between these two headers with E85 would yield, the JDL EL was on my radar when cross shopping the ace and I'm sure people in the market would be interested in it as well.
