You can also consider a EFR 7163 in T25 footprint, which will allow you 500+whp and outspool the GTX3076 based options. The EFR's can now be specced with EWG housings and blank offs purchased for the BOV if your setup is running a normal style BOV.

Stay away from anything sbd sells as they are all cheap Chinese knock offs. I'm running the gtx3076r gen 2 and my power band looks like a supercharged engine not a turbo. Honestly it's the best suited turbo for this engine.

I actually went with the GT3076R. It's definitely more laggy than the T518z but pulls a little harder up top with the same amount of boost. Tune is not finalized yet as my fuel pump isn't here so I'm still running at 1 bar (wastegate/actuator pressure) same as before. Will be tunning for +20 psi later.

Clearance is VERY tight with the Greddy kit. I ordered a low profile fan kit for a cleaner look later but for now it works perfectly.

The videos aren't a very good comparison as it spun considerably more with the GT3076R and I had to let off. But from 120-160 you can tell the GT30 is pulling slightly quicker at the same boost.

no turbo blanket? would assume you'd get one being in the UAE.

Did you replace your mushroom filter with a better flowing one?

I had a heat blanket on my T518z but it was ironically burnt on the down pipe side. I didn't realize it until I took it off as I was planning on reusing it. I received a replacement but I wasn't able to install it without taking the car a part again. I'll install it when I do the low profile fans + the Jackson racing radiator.

The filter in the picture is a Greddy 2.75 inlet filter. That's the only other Greddy filter (made by AFE) that would fit other than the mushroom airnix that came with the kit.

So I have ran the SBD 500x kit on my brz for a month now. Honestly I probably hit full boost at around 3500 rpm (10 psi). The turbo is a quality piece, and all the parts you can pretty much interchange with the gtx3076r. There are plenty of people who hate on the kit ( I was one of those people before I got one) but honestly the kit fit without any issues perfect. I can also add that the customer service that Chris and his company provide is honestly none that I have seen. He is pretty much always available to help and figure things out. On this forum there arent many guys posting information about this kit as there is on the Facebook page. The FB page is the one that has the most information about SBD kit, so honestly before you can make a good opinion you need to see what the owners are doing on that page.

I actually joined the group and it's very informative. I was planning to buy the 500X upgrade kit when Chris posted here along with other parts. I had a week off coming and it was the only chance I had to work on the car to upgrade the turbo. I emailed/messaged Chris and told him what I needed and when. He didn't reply on my email but messaged me back on Facebook.

He said it would take a week to get everything ready. He seemed not very eager to help and I felt I had to put a lot of effort to get his attention. The last message I sent him on the 12th of June was asking for a quote for everything we talked about and he said he will provide it. Two days later, nothing from Chris, I pulled the trigger on the GT3076R.
It has been a month since I contacted him and he still didn't provide a qoute or anything so it's a good thing I did go with the other option.

I would probably be running his turbo right now if he actually got me that quote and shipped it within a week but he seems to be selling full kits left and right that he doesn't mind losing a few grands on a potential customer...

Is is true, as I was in Iceland with my brother on vacation backpacking. VERY remote place I might add.

Glad you got things handled.

It's no secret we struggle with maintaining inventory, as such we have made it well known we don't supply Greddy customers.......as to be honest, we shouldn't have too.

With that said, we do take care of our internal customers.

I'm sorry you had issues with their parts, I get numerous people...EVERY SINGLE WEEK...with Greddy kits wanting us to supply them with XYZ components....

We're simply unable to support any kits beyond our own.

update on the t620z kit. Just got back from the dyno. Got 353whp/268wtq on 18lbs of boost and about a E47 reading. Motor is built at 10:1 compression.

Surprising, we see 400whp out of our 400X @ 14-15 PSI all day long.

The 500X makes 500whp @ around 20 PSI.

I would have expected more from the 620Z, hum....

This is on a 9:1 Compression motor, therefore the comparison isn't quite there, on a stock compression motor and e85 it would be around the same.

He said 10:1 in his post above, which I wouldn't think would cause such a drastic drop in power.

Our SBD500X kits on the stock motor make 320-330whp on 93 octane all day long.

I guess I just expected more from that turbo, but I've never seen any graphs of it to compare.

I have made 320whp with the T518z on pump gas at 14 psi with a 10.5:1 compression engine. Every Dyno reads different and without a baseline we would probably never know.
